its pretty fucked up how many healthcare workers hate addicts, mentally ill people, and disabled people. did you think the job was just going to be patching up John Sports after the Big Game and looking after 8 year olds with broken arms?

seven years ago today, jonghyun made his official debut as a solo artist with the release of his first mini album, base, on january 12th, 2015. base featured two title tracks: “crazy (guilty pleasure)” and “déjà-boo”, which was upgraded as being a second title after it became a sleeper hit as a digital pre-release. base was the first album by an sm artist to be predominantly composed and written by the artist of release, as well as the first album from an sm artist to feature multiple collaborations with non-sm artists. “déjà-boo” earned jonghyun his first music show win as a soloist on music core, as well as seven more consecutive wins on all other cable and network music show programs airing in south korea at the time. base is one of twelve albums by a korean soloist to reach #1 on the billboard world album chart (with jonghyun’s poet | artist being another one of the twelve entries). it ranked #2 on the gaon monthly album chart for the month of january 2015, and #35 on the gaon yearly album chart for 2015 with 72,161 in total sales. similarly, “déjà-boo” debuted at #1 on the gaon weekly digital chart for the weekly of january 4th - january 10th, 2015, and #3 on the gaon monthly digital chart for the month of january 2015. the album also earned an album bonsang at the 31st golden disc awards in january 2016, his first of two (with his next being given to poet | artist at the 34th golden disc awards in january 2019.).
