This episode was sooo relatable in terms of growing up and realizing the bad things that happened to you as a child. Like, when you're a kid and in a bad situation, you don't really realize how bad it was until you get older and understand the world more and then it dawns on you like "oh, this is definitely not how it was supposed to be"

Young Ahsoka was so heartbreaking because, in these scenes, physically she looks like the age she was when she fought in the Clone Wars (13 or 14), but mentally she's like in her 50s and has all the memories and knowledge that her 50-year-old self has. Now, she looks back and realizes that she wasn't trained to fight in a war. The training younglings received was to be peacekeepers. Now, she sees Anakin's lightheartedness and joking nature and, rather than joining in like she once may have done, she's disgusted by it. Now, she sees the pointlessness of the war and how so many people died for nothing. We see a child with the wisdom and understanding of an adult. It pushes the audience to understand more of the tragedy of the Clone Wars and the trauma that Ahsoka carries from it. This was the guilt and anger and sadness she has been carrying for decades.

Seeing this perspective is quite heavy and depressing, but it makes the line "I choose to live" so much more impactful. You can heal from your past and step forward onto a new path and choose to keep living.

Also shoutout to Halle, who perfectly captured Ariel's relentless curiosity and optimism. Her voice is angelic and I couldn't have asked for a better Ariel

everyone gushing about ariel and eric's dynamic in the little mermaid 2023 and how "they have so much in common" kinda makes me sad that it took this long and a live-action movie for people to see them the way i've always seen them. like this is why i've been so insane about them since i was a kid. they have ALWAYS been a match, they have ALWAYS been so alike in the original movie and that's why ""ariel gave it all up for a boy"" but he's really not just a boy. what she saw in him made HER feel SEEN. the first time she sees him, she learns everything she needs to know about him: he feels like he doesn't belong in this company of people who only see him as a prince when what he seeks is adventure, he wants MORE, he is compassionate and empathetic, literally almost died for his dog, and what fascinates her most about him is that he's a prince and she's a princess but HE at least has freedom. she saw him and instantly knew he could give her something nobody in her life and in her kingdom could, which is UNDERSTANDING.

ariel and eric have ALWAYS been twin flames and i get that this wasn't fully fleshed out in the original (because what original disney princess romance is except for maybe beauty and the beast idk) but i'm glad this is everyone's takeaway from the live-action now.

just realized that there were definitely celebrities who got infected in the last of us which is hilarious to think about. imagine getting attacked by a zombie and your last thought before you die is "is that fucking justin timberlake?"

Joel protecting Ellie on the ground while he's up in the building. Him seeing the truck at the same time she did, following her as she ran to it for shelter. Him being so zoned in on her and only her. Him seeing that she's going to make a run to save Henry and Sam, and her looking to him for cover, and him knowing what it means and nodding, "go for it, I've got you."

Holy fucking shit.

Vex and Percy somehow do not miss a step with each other. They progress along the traditional relationship timeline of flirt -> confess love in the face of death -> date -> murder those who would harm their love -> tie the knot. Somehow, despite everything, they make it work. They hold steady.

Vax and Kiki are a rocking dinghy in the middle of a storm where both are pretty sure they found the love of their life but they keep missing the right timing. Vax's confession, Keyleth's overtures, they are awkward and unsure and they keep missing.

AND WHEN THEY FINALLY GET IT JUST RIGHT, THE ENTIRE WORLD FALLS ON THEM ANYWAY.
