โš™๏ธ EUREKA! I figured it out! I can now create custom filters in CAS for just about anything. This is going to ruin my lifeโ€ฆ but maybe it'll make The Sims 4 a little more tolerable for you.

๐Ÿ’ฌ I know a Search Bar would be awesome, but it would require Scale Form GFX modifications that are beyond my current capabilities. At one point in time, TwistedMexi was working on something similar to Better BuildBuy but for CAS. I have no idea if it was ever finished. For now, this is the best that I can give you.

๐Ÿ“ธ I will take better screenshots when I get the chance. I literally figured out how to do this in the middle of doing my BASE GAME CAS Overrides, CAS Add-Ons, and CAS De-Bloatingโ„ข. In other words, this completely derailed my week.

๐ŸŒธ WE CAN DO THIS. YOU AND ME, TOGETHER:

For all intents and purposes, this is a "community project". I am willing and able to create and maintain the required override, the hundreds upon hundreds of unique 9-digit "IDs" for the "TagValueNumber", and the unique Strings, etc., but I can't possibly override every custom CAS item in existence.

Help me make this a reality, and also, keep your fingers crossed that the override doesn't break under the weight of the hundreds unpon hundreds of entries I'm adding to it.

Oh hai, @sims4studioofficial. Can you add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of CAS mods? Even if you can't get the "CategoryNumber" to copy properly, a BATCH FIX will at least eliminate half the busywork.

If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

For everyone else who is new to this, there are detailed instructions on the Patreon OP that I will refine and expand SOONโ„ข.

Cheers! I can't believe a week has passed since I started this project.

The Tumblr OP might get overhauled.

The Patreon OP is currently getting overhauled.

Additionally, I have created JSON files for every filter.

These JSON files go into your "Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Custom Tags" folder and they add the custom TAGS to the drop-down lists in STUDIO and WAREHOUSE. If you know, you know, but if you don't know, I will explain in the Patreon OP.

The "127" in the JSON filename and TAG name is to remind you to configure your "CategoryNumber" with "127" because S4S is wonky right now. I have/will explain this in the Patreon OP.

Please stop paying people to find CC for you

Seriously. Today's discovery - trsimpearls - is making at least $680 a month to download someone else's CC and post in in folders, with almost every folder linked only for Patrons. This is really, really gross.

If you're a CC creator, check if your stuff is there. At least some is on SFS (I don't have the patience to download to see whose stuff - download priority today goes to Civ VII).

If you really want to pay creators, pay people who actually do labour not people stealing stuff. Consider dropping an apologetic tip to a creator whose stuff you found in a CC-dump folder made by someone who only knows how to download and upload files - especially a smaller creator.

And if you appreciate the work I do in supporting mod/CC users and creators, please consider dropping me (luthienrising) a tip on Patreon or Kofi. (And many thanks to my handful of existing Patrons, especially those of you who find over a dollar a month!)

invisible high chairs or how infants and toddlers can sit anywhere

I made seven invisible high chairs so infants and toddlers can sit on different things around the house.

there are seating areas on:

  • the bed
  • the table
  • a sofa
  • a bedside table
  • a dresser
  • a coffee table
  • a kitchen counter or bar table

(some items, like the dresser and bedside table, have different heights, so the seat does not fit all items. I used the average size as a basis for the invisible chair)

you will find invisible high chairs in the "kids' furniture" and "living chair" sections.

the seating area looks like a small sticker that you place on the surface of the object. to do this, use the cheat code "bb.moveobjects".

i only changed the coordinates of the sims, i did not change the animations themselves (I tried but it didn't work). so the animations for getting on and off the invisible chair look a little weird. here's the worst example:

the seats also work with the "high chair lock" mod by pandasama. itโ€™s a cool mod that prevents sims from independently releasing toddlers and infants from the high chair.

Since the new eyelash update is here, I'm gonna teach you how to convert old eyelash cc into the new eyelash option!

First of all, we will need the Sims 4 Studio. The download link can be found here: https://sims4studio.com/board/6/download-sims-studio-open-version

Now, head into the app and click the "My Projects" button on the main menu.

Open the eyelash file (.package file) you want to convert. I'll just pick a random one for reference. Once you picked the one you want, hit open.

You will be directed into the studio, which will look like this:

Now on the right side of the screen, find the CATEGORIES button and click on it.

Once there, change the OUTFIT TYPE to MASK DETAIL and APPLY TO ALL SWATCHES. Save the file, and the .package file will be updated in your game. Also, make sure to double check in-game before continuing with your other custom content.

As you can see in my game, It worked! Hopefully it works for all of you, too.

And by the way, If you're going to distribute these publicly without the original creators consent, just don't do it. This is meant for private use only or for content creators who want to convert their eyelashes into the new eyelash section.

EDIT: As trillyke has said, This does not work with eyelashes in the glasses section as they will collide with rings and most of the accessories

Sooo, recently I've found a way to fix (in my opinion) "unfinished", alpha custom content made for TS4. First I tried to remodel a high-poly shirt and copy the UV map from the original to the low-poly one. With this method I was able to decrease the polycount from 19k to 1,8k in 2-3 hours.

After that I tried to figure out a faster method and found an open source auto remesher addon/plugin for Blender which cut the work time in half, 1 hour! Tried this plugin out with another shirt and I was able to cut down ~8k polies AND keep the quality that the original shirt had!

Then another one!

I honestly don't know what to say. I am convinced now that most TS4 CC creators only make their work to fill their pockets and wallets. I know they say that they do this out of a hobby, but PLEASE, if you put your work behind a paywall, at least make sure it's optimized.

Instant LODs Script Tutorial!

Hi guys!! I know I'm a little MIA right now so I'm very sorry if you've messaged me and haven't gotten a response yet, I've got a bit of a big project going on right now which I'll be able to announce soon, and then I want to overhaul my downloads page (I haven't been able to edit it for a while because of Tumblr's javascript thing so I have to remake it ๐Ÿซ ) and organize commission requests better.

For now though I finally made the video tutorial for the Instant LODs script that I promised a while ago! You can download the script here, let me know if you have any questions/problems!
