Random inspiration came after marathoning all the Shovel Knight games and I thought I'd draw a possible interpretation of my favorite Knight - Specter Knight. Then a thinly veiled French pirate Propeller knight dropped in and it was no longer half as serious of a picture as I intended it to be.
It was nice to draw something after a couple of years of zilch. If I have it in me to draw more I think I'll play with the Shovel Knight Fandom for a bit.

Due to some nekkidness here is a cropped version of an Art trade with @aventisz. I have lured her into a binding “Eternal Art Trade” contract and I’m very, very sad that I’m still at the “erase every line I put down” stage. >.> Angbang wasn’t enough for us. We have decided to go with Tri-bang - Melkor/Mairon/Sauron.

Zodiac: Libra is finally done and comes with two versions due to my “happy accident” of finding out what happens when I fill in clouds over mountains. It’s actually a neat effect that I’ve grown fond of.

So, I could have done better. Should have, actually, but that throne murdered my brain and hand. (Actually a 9 hour inkathon had a lot to do with that but let’s not question my idiotic tendencies that I mistake for dedication.) I can’t draw thrones, not really. One of many things on my list. :( Anyways... For my buddy @aventisz. ❤
Got more accomplished in a few hours than I thought. Got it tightened up a bit and some inking done. Enjoy Mai’s freckled rear end, @aventisz. This could very well turn into your Christmas present so no more WIP’s until its done. You got the general idea of what yer getting at least :)

Commission work that is essentially a hidden object picture related to the commissioners family trips within the states. Lots of Peaches, oranges, honey bees, butterfly's, Queen St. signs, crowns, baseball bats, Washington DC monuments, and mickey mouses. (mickey mice doesn’t sound right...)

Oddball art of Sauron expressing fascination with the flicker of virtue he has left inside that was Mairon. Not because he likes the “virtue” aspect, but he’s such a prideful prick he surely loves the shit out of himself. Gotta chain that up and torture it, and molest it for making you weak.
Let’s just roll with the fact that naked spirit Mairon can’t have freckles but he can have an earring... I can’t catch everything stupid I do before inking.
I dig around in my older saved stuff often in search of pattern inspiration or piecing together HOW I used to draw something that I actually like, but have since omitted from my style without realizing it. This led to finding this initial sketch of a much older (and completed) illustration from my more productive days. I completely forgot I used to pencil in most detail - including hair - before inking! I don’t anymore to save time and the desire to tear my hair out since the ink also comes up when I erased out the pencil lines, which leads to reinking everything. That sucks, btw. Still, I might start doing it again. I’m sorry to admit I spent several moments pretending I didn’t draw this pencil sketch just so I could admire and be jealous of the artist. I also realized I miss yet dread drawing Melkor’s glorious hair again. I might fuck it up these days.
Another WIP for this Sauron/Mairon now with a little bit more blocked out. I can finally focus on figuring out what patterns to put where... and how “enclosed” or “open” the BG is gonna be. Decisions. Decisions.
WIP. Half exploring depicting the act of “chaining” one’s inner light, half “hur hur Sauron/Mairon crack is dumb yet satisfying”.
Don’t ask me why, but Sauron/Mairon as a crack ship just really makes me stupid happy. Still. Even two years later after I initially started (and gave up) this ridiculous thing. At least I saw it through eventually. Now I think I’ll just stick to my tiny corner of the internet trying very hard to get back into the groove of drawing in general by drawing this foolishness among other cracky foolishness. :3
Random fact: there’s like 40 something eyes in this thing. Bonus eye spy (pun not intended) game?
