A week on from her first sleepover and Ava was back again, this time making the excuse she was staying with another friend from college, using a name she’d thrown around before when staying out late in order to see Chris.
“Well, it began at around 10am, so the vampires were unaware of the exact moment of impact. We knew it would happen, but with it being daylight out, there wasn’t much we could do. We protected ourselves as best we could, for most of us that meant hiding within basements or burying ourselves. Magda bought a bomb shelter and we hid in there so we wouldn’t be killed by sunlight exposure, should any of the meteor’s crash into her house.”
“Oh yeah, you still lived with her back then.”

“Tell that to my parents,” Ava snorted quietly, shaking her head and trembling when his lips ghosted her side.
“Alright, I will. I’ll march down there right now and demand that they buy a bigger bed for me to fuck their daughter in.” She held her hand over her mouth to stop her laughter, shaking with silent giggles.
“Don’t make me laugh, and be quieter, oh and no making me squirt either!”
“Fucking hell, can I do anything fun, or shall I just piss off home again?”

Of course, it was her within, waiting for him, ready to stake her claim to what she believed to be hers after feeling what he’d been doing with Ava for the last five and a half hours. “Oh, absolutely charming!” She cried, smacking his thigh as he sat down next to her on the couch, Chris playfully slapping her head in retaliation. “Thought I’d share this. Thai virgin. Let’s get drunk, yes?” It was something about the purity of virgin blood, it got vampires absolutely off their asses where inebriation was concerned, something about the purity having an effect on something that was so impure. Whatever it was, it equalled a loaded creature of the night.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Texas’s new law, S.B. 8, went into effect. This law effectively bans abortion in the state AND asks private citizens to act as bounty hunters to “enforce” the law.
Then, in the dead of the night, the Supreme Court turned its back on 50 years of precedent, rendering Roe v. Wade effectively meaningless in Texas. The Supreme Court allowed Texas’s unconstitutional six week abortion ban to go into effect. Six weeks is before many people know that they’re pregnant.
This is an attack on human rights and Texas law sets a dangerous legal precedent and could clear a path for states to override people’s constitutional rights. If the courts let this bill stand we can expect to see similar bills introduced in states across the country.
Abortion is health care. Yet politicians are consistently attacking access to that care (even during a pandemic).

I know I’ve said how much I love this series many times, but I’ll never stop spreading the love. What I love the most is how we get to truly see how the characters grow and change, and see how the the experiences they go through in the story shape them. Nothing is very easy and miraculously, this story never loses sight of the Tyler we first saw in Extraction. Only amplifies the glimpses into the many layers of the character we saw in the film. I feel so fortunate we get to spend so much time with the character and all the new ones created thanks to its amazing writer @chickensarentcheap ❤️❤️

I pulled out a chair at the last available table in the unusually busy coffee shop, I thought I might've caught a break choosing the one outside of campus but alas I was wrong.
I was about to sit down when the chair opposite me slid out from under the table, my eyes lifted to meet with the most sparkly blue eyes i'd ever seen. The sight of him took my breath away. Literally.

It’s not every day a real-life superhero lends a hand to a worthy but struggling regional health service and yet actor Chris Hemsworth is a man of many surprises.
Armajun Aboriginal Health Service is a not-for-profit Aboriginal medical clinic in Armidale NSW whose funding battles means it has to make do with broken equipment and struggles to get band-aids.
It has seven GPs and treats mental health, drug and alcohol issues, as well as running a men’s health group, a women’s health group and a mums and bubs clinic.
So imagine the surprise of staff on Monday when in walked a man named Harry asking to speak with manager Rachael Kliendienst.
Turns out Harry was working on a nearby shoot for the National Geographic Channel and had some excess supplies and equipment that the production wanted to donate to a clinic in need.
Outside was a truck full of equipment including an X-ray light, electric bed, stainless steel medical trolley, thermometers and weight and height machine worth thousands of dollars.
Astonished staff teared up as Harry told them they could have the lot.
Shooting on a documentary about the human brain had just wrapped and producers and the host of the program – Hemsworth – had tasked him with finding a local worthy charity that could benefit from the medical equipment. Superheroes indeed.
