Calm my storm
WARNING: VIOLENCE
Joe couldn’t believe her luck. She hadn’t anticipated her motorcycle to run out of petrol on her way to the hospital but that didn’t deter her determination. Walking it alongside the road, though, was not exactly the best idea either. She was close to the main town when another truck passed by, initially offering her help to which she refused. Her motorcycle was one of the few possessions she was proud of from having purchased it by her own savings and no one could ever touch it unless she permits them. The thing was, they insisted and with the night was going, she wasn’t in the best moods and neither were they.
Things escalated quickly when these guys noticed what kind of motorcycle Joe had, which was all that needed to spark a fight. It was four against one but while others would simply try to get them all; Joe was different. Build against build, she stood no chance so she fought smarter. She knew where to draw the line too, only fracturing bones than breaking them and stunning them than knocking them out. She didn’t want to hurt anyone, not anymore. However, when she received a punch to the face and stumbled back, her control on holding back was tethering. As time ticked by, she knew she was bound to knock out someone and she hoped she wouldn’t land them in a hospital.
Tina hated power outages, especially in the summer. In fact, she wasn’t a fan of the dark much at all. When the power had shut off city wide, she’d luckily been stuck in her favorite place-- the library. She assumed electricity would be back on in no time, and that she’d carry on her way home. After waiting a few hours though, there was no such luck, and with the librarians ready to call it a day, she was forced to leave. Once she was safe in her bed she wouldn’t mind the outage so much, but her car was at home. It had been a bright, sunny afternoon-- perfect for a walk, so that’s exactly what she did. Now making that same trek back in pitch dark was eerie without the soft glow of streetlights or homes to guide her way. Using her phone as a flashlight, Tina carefully inspected the sidewalks. If anyone jumped out of nowhere, she wouldn’t be surprised if it catapulted her into shock. At least she knew her sister was safe, at the gym. Once she made it back, she could always get her car and go pick Raven up. It was better to be in her apartment than in public with a bunch of strangers.
Commotion stirred from afar though, earning Tina’s attention. There was a definite fight breaking out, and although she could be tough when warranted, Tina knew she couldn’t take on a bunch of guys. She inched closer, quietly, to get a better idea of what was going on before she’d dial the police. With the 9-1- already plugged into her phone, the nearer the brunette came, she recognized one of them. Joe. The two didn’t know each other all that well, but she recognized her from school, and online. Tina believed she was on the wrestling team. While she didn’t know what the hell was going on, it was the blonde being struck by a fist to the face from a male that had Tina running over protectively, just in time to catch her in her arms. Sure, she was smaller than all of them, but what kind of guy would just hit a girl like that? “Can’t pick on someone your own size?” Tina chided the men, using the darkness as an advantage to hide that she was actually a bit terrified. Gently, she helped Joe back to her feet, trying to make out her face in the darkness. “Are you alright?” she nearly whispered. “Want me to call the cops?”
