yeah 😭 the fic is supposed to cover the evolution of the polycule until we get to the point where benji calls her “our ilsa”. i haven’t wrote anything for it in months!! but i want to finish it
here’s your snippet:
Before Ethan went underground, he had told Benji that a woman assisted his escape. He’d explained the events in an even tone; Ethan was clearly injured, rattled, and trying to keep them both calm, but Benji still heard the difference when he got to the woman. Each word was deliberately chosen and carefully lain down. Quick and efficient and unemotional. Not Ethan’s regular rhythm. The woman had made an impact.
The fact that she pops up again is wholly unsurprising. Things like that tend to happen to Ethan.
Benji just gets shot at, that’s his meet-cute.

Today Frank has decided it’s going to be one of those sessions where he talks around the issue, instead of just asking Eddie how he’s feeling. A lot of the time, these end up being the hardest because Eddie doesn’t know what Frank is looking for until he hits upon a sore point. It blindsides him every time.
