29. Litigation lawyer. Lovelorn plane hopper until 2020, just lovelorn from 2020 to 2021, then back to being an even more hopelessly lovelorn plane hopper since 2022.

Today, I passed the Philippine Bar. One of the most incredible days of my life.

Officially on hiatus starting today

The Bar Exams are in November and I will dedicate the next few months to serious study. Thank you to everyone who supported me on my law school journey, even through my most dramatic, joyful, painful, and incredible moments.

I will not likely to be posting new content or reblogging any of them soon, but I still might be able to open your messages from time to time.

In the meantime, everyone, continue to raise hell. ✨🔥

Last August, I was looking at my Thesis Writing class requirements and furiously hitting all the databases and journals so I could do good research.

Last September, I was on the verge of tears because the thesis committee flat out rejected my Juris Doctor thesis topic for no good reason and I had to fight tooth and nail to write the paper I wanted. I even stormed the office of the Thesis Committee Head to lay down everything and explain why my topic was a winner.

Last October, @grandpasprincess94 said that I should go to Europe to write my thesis, which is on trade preferences granted by the EU to the Philippines. I smiled but laughed off the idea that I would ever be doing my thesis in Europe because my chances of coaching a good team were a little slim and I didn’t have the money to do so.

Last April, my hopes were dashed when the team didn’t make it to the European rounds of the moot court which would have sent me flying back to Switzerland.

Exactly a month ago, my boss offered me a chance to do research and write my thesis in Switzerland with him. I said ‘yes’ after 3 days… and it was a whirlwind month from visa applications to completing my academic requirements and settling all my affairs.

On Thursday, I’m boarding a plane to Switzerland, getting access to one of the best graduate school libraries in the world, and seeing my favorite city near the lake once more.

In August, I’m starting my last year of law school.

Much has happened, much is expected, much can be done.

It's July and I'm donning a dark blue robe, a purple hood and cap. I'm finally graduating law school. As crazy as it was with mooting, coaching, scholarship, and thesis, I did better than I thought I would.

I'm graduating with honors and this thesis, initially rejected (prompting me to storm a professor's office to give him a piece of my mind), will be awarded tomorrow as second best. It's been an amazing journey and I'm thankful to all of you for being with me since October of 2017.

I am the one who inquired about the moots? Can you follow me so I can message you?

Oh sure! My first ever moot was actually Asia Cup, but I served as team manager and not as an oralist. My first speaking role was for the WTO moot

In which moot did you compete?

Hi, there! I've done the Philip C. Jessup and John H. Jackson moots. You can message me if you want to know more about them.

DYK the bright clusters and nebulae of planet Earth’s night sky are often named for flowers or insects?

Though its wingspan covers over 3 light-years, NGC 6302: The Butterfly Nebula is no exception! With an estimated surface temperature of about 250,000 degrees C, the dying central star of this particular planetary nebula has become exceptionally hot, shining brightly in ultraviolet light but hidden from direct view by a dense torus of dust. This sharp close-up was recorded by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2009. The Hubble image data is reprocessed here, showing off the remarkable details of the complex planetary nebula.

This colorful image, taken by our Hubble Space Telescope between Feb. 12 and Feb. 18, 2018 , celebrated the Earth-orbiting observatory’s 28th anniversary of viewing the heavens, giving us a window seat to the universe’s extraordinary tapestry of stellar birth and destruction.

At the center of the photo, a monster young star 200,000 times brighter than our Sun is blasting powerful ultraviolet radiation and hurricane-like stellar winds, carving out a fantasy landscape of ridges, cavities, and mountains of gas and dust.

This region epitomizes a typical, raucous stellar nursery full of birth and destruction. The clouds may look majestic and peaceful, but they are in a constant state of flux from the star’s torrent of searing radiation and high-speed particles from stellar winds. As the monster star throws off its natal cocoon of material with its powerful energy, it is suppressing star formation around it.
