Rey never made her flight back home from New Orleans. She wasn’t nearly ready to be out in the open as a newborn vampire. She wouldn’t have wanted to part from Ben after only just finding him. Although she would eventually have to make the trip back to pack her belongings and break her lease. Fortunately, that wasn’t high on Rey’s list of priorities. Ben was attentive and patient with Rey as she navigated her new life as a night walker. She needed a teacher, and he was the best instructor she could ever ask for.
