So, here’s the thing. We’ve heard Democrat presidential candidates promise to codify Roe before. Obama did, and he came into office with a supermajority, a Democrat-written bill to codify Roe, and a filibuster-proof supermajority. After he was elected, codifying Roe was no longer “my priority” for the President. The bill went nowhere, Obama lost his majority, and here we are.

You might remember that Biden was that guy’s VP. As a conservative, Catholic “ticket balancer.”

It is fine & normal & necessary actually to point out how abortion access is often determined by your zip code or your income or your health insurance & how these issues intersect with systemic racism. for teargas i would add, based on advice i saw in 2020:

1. if you aren't being rushed by cops, WALK DON'T RUN. yell that mantra to the people around you if you have breath. someone will fall, get trampled, and trip others.

2. make a corridor so people who were closer to canisters can leave faster than people who only got lightly gassed.

3. call out medics and tear gas flushes so people who can't see can find them. if you're going to help guide someone, tell them what you're doing before you touch them

4. wash, then keep any contaminated gear in a sealed container away from your other belongings. when you're no longer getting gassed regularly, THROW IT AWAY. it will not get clean over time, i've heard of people getting stinging eyes and sore throats literally years later.
