I still need to glue my spine but I’m thinking about cover design now. I think the rose cardstock is too thick to use as a cover. You can see where I did a test fold at the bottom. I couldn’t see white paper coming through from cracking but it isn’t a very clean fold. Kinda bumpy. I might use the red paper, which is thinner, and try to cut out the rose and use it as an overlay and just fold over a couple of side pieces to make a wrap. It’s all very experimental though lol
Ok watched the first two episodes of Bridgerton. I’ll finish it tomorrow. Splitting the season is annoying because it’s clearly aimed at people like me who will cancel their subscription once it’s done. Having said that, the idea of finding the time and focus to watch 4 episodes is so much less daunting than 8.

Sewing is done. I used three strands of embroidery thread. I wish the variegation pattern was shorter so there were more frequent color changes. I also thought about starting white and going to red but the in between options weren’t great to stitch together a bunch of colors on my own. The pinks were just too light and pastel. Also totally measured my thread wrong and thought I would get back to the lighter color for the beginning of the book but I had a lot of extra. I think I’m happy with it though. We’ll see how I feel once the whole thing is put together.

I may have over estimated my capacity for doing things today. The brain fog is creeping in. I’m half way through sewing signatures though so I’ll finish that after a lunch break then take a few hours off. It would be nice to get the spine glued today so that it can set overnight. Waiting for glue to dry is sometimes the longest part.
Ok, I’ve done a reasonable amount of maintenance level housework for the week. I need to refresh myself on the placement and knots for sewing signatures, then I can do that, THEN I can maybe sit down and watch Bridgerton.
The knight looks enough like William Russell that I am willing to believe this is a deleted scene from "the Crusade"

Elizabeth is in a one-sided-enemies to lovers story. The book from Elizabeth’s point of view: Darcy: [compliments her] Elizabeth: This man is insulting me. Darcy: [gets up his nerve and asks her to dance after she makes a big deal of liking dancing] Elizabeth: He is trying to make me feel uncomfortable! Darcy: [tries to make conversation about something he thinks she is interested in] Elizabeth: I’m not sure what his angle is, but it must be awful since he said that one unflattering thing about me to his friend in a conversation I eavesdropped on! And also, hot!George says he’s an ass, so clearly him being nice to me must be nefarious!!!
Darcy, meanwhile, is over here in all his awkwardness thinking he’s doing a really good job of flirting with the girl he likes. He’s doing so well. It’s actually working! At first it seemed too good to be true, but she’s saying all the right things! She’s telling him how to meet up with her so they can spend time together! She’s putting up with his awful aunt and still lets him visit her despite all of that! He’s done it! He’s got the girl! He’s planning their wedding because he’s getting an A in romance, you guys.
