Velvet Worm (Phylum Onychophora)
Habitat & Distribution
- Velvet worm species can be found in tropical habitats throughout the Southern Hemisphere
- They reside in rainforests, where they take cover under leaf litter or rotting wood
Physical Description
- Length: Depending on species, length may be anywhere from 0.1 and 22 cm (0.04–8.66 in)
- The number of legs may vary from 13 to 43 pairs
- Velvet worms are brightly coloured, generally orange or red, but can also be green, blue, gold, or white with varying patterns
- The body is coated in a fine layer of overlapping scales called papillae, which give it a velvety appearence
- Most velvet worms have long, pointed antennae which are used to detect prey
Behaviour
- Velvet worms are ambush predators, feeding on a variety of insects including woodlice, termites, and crickets
- Some species can form complex societies, composed of up to 15 individuals which live and hunt together
- Main predators of velvet worms include spiders, centipedes, rodents, and birds
Key Advantages
- Velvet worms move in a smooth, creeping motion which can be difficult for prey to detect
- Individuals can squirt an adhesive slime from their mouths

Kendrick actually saw a person die outside his Compton apartment when he was just five years old where in his mind, he realized that this type of violence is what he's going to have to get used to while growing up. He has experienced homelessness. He lived on welfare and foodstamps. Saw his friends die, even held one of his dying friends in his arms gently like he was holding a baby. Battled with avoiding the gang lifestyle that kept tempting him. Made a song titled Chapter Six with the lyric "Pray that we make it to 21" because of all the death he's experienced.
To see Drake think it's fun and cute and easy money, pretending to be from the hood/about that life/be someone he's not and never do a damn thing for the Black American community he bites from, THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY KENDRICK HATES THAT MAN!
i would like to add, drake grew up in forest hill. one of the nicest neighbourhoods in toronto. im not sure why he puts on this facade when this information is so easy to find (or why people defend this behaviour.)
