This "toeing the line" crap is irritating. Either shut up and enjoy the material or leave it alone. There's no need for virtue signaling or announcing to the world about how much you're initially against it. Can't be against it too much if it does something for you.

This is what being into Dark Fantasy/Romance is about, after all. Knowing better in reality and letting yourself go in fantasy.

Someone helped me understand the boggling mentality of these people persistent in proving their moral superiority, they’re looking at the story in binary terms. They believe that there is a wholly good choice (UA) and a wholly bad one (AA), so by choosing AA you are choosing wrong. The problem is… this isn’t a test. You’re not being quizzed by Larian on your ethics and the choice you make is not indicative of whether you are a “good person” or not. But to view AA/UA in such polarizing terms only to pick and choose…?

I feel like someone stole my lunch after making fun of what I was eating. You can’t just shit all over a section of the fandom, minimize our appreciation for this storyline as “eroticization” and then lust after the same content. The sexy appeal of AA is a little bonus— it’s not the only reason most people enjoy his character.

I saw this when the new kisses were first released. The anti-AA crowd was quite miffed that they were “”too sexy”” and tiktok was flooded with “I will never ever ascend him BUT-“. Tbh, if you haven’t played an ascendant route yourself (despite harassing people who do) then your opinion means very little to me. You don’t know the context. You’re not engaging with material despite hating it so vehemently. You can dislike it all you want but if you haven’t played it, then I truly dgaf!

TLDR: stop acting like you’re committing a cardinal sin by liking AA, you’re free to like whatever you want. If you think it’s hot there’s absolutely nothing wrong w that and you will feel much better if you stop restricting yourself for the opinions of strangers online
