Hey everyone. There is no easy way to say this after a lot of thinking and deliberation I’ve decided to shut down Monster Office.  I know I made promises that I didnt keep and honestly its because I didnt want to disappoint anyone but I also really didnt feel like continuing.  There are a few different reasons. The first being that I started monster office way back when I was in school and I just had a lot more time to focus on it. However even then I definitely bit off more than I could ever chew.

 Secondly this project just isnt what I wanted it to be. Im so happy many folks could make friends and share art and interact. However, time and time again whenever I tried to steer this in a certain direction things just always took a wonky turn somewhere. Lighthearted events and prompts would turn into serious dark situations and I honestly just could never keep up with what was going on. Especially the things I heard happening in the discord server were unsettling to say the least.

Thirdly, I’ve just kind of outgrown this. Monster Office was a way for me to explore my concept of dreamons and I think I’ve reached the point where I have learned all I can about them from this project and its just time for them to become part of my main original works. 

I held off on this because I didnt want to take away a community for you guys but I also dont think I have to do that. In a way you all have been the one to make the community and I feel like me pulling my ideas away from it wouldnt necessarily ruin things. After all at its core, Monster Office is just an office environment for monsters. And it can stay that way. There just wont be Dreamons, Mimics, REM, or Kaleidope tied to it. That doesnt mean that you all have to stop interacting with one another. Again you all made the community what it was and Im glad I could bring people together to make friends and I hope you all continue to make friends and have fun with characters and roleplaying with one another. If you are interested in keeping up with my works and asking my characters questions I have a worldbuilding blog @merriway where I talk about my original works and characters. I really appreciate everyone’s interest and time in this and Im sorry it didnt get further. Life really does pull us in all sorts of directions but while this project may be ending there will be many more things for all of us in the future, so please keep creating and being awesome.

Hello! I was reading up on your monster office stuff and I noticed one of the descriptions was that lesser dreamons handle extra stuff around the departments. I was wondering is fair a lesser dreamon? And if there are any lesser dreamons we don't know about that you've made! :D

There are many different types of lesser dreamon! Lets start with some dreamons that are more or less like animals amongst the dreamons.

Monster Office Ref Madness!

Hey! I wanna share this so folks have a easier way to get reference sheets of Characters in the MO I been keeping track of the MO and been making a file of everyone’s ref in the MO you can find it here

Every Character in the file goes to their belonging owns!!! the only characters I own is Al, Ernis, Tony (in the side characters file) and Oogie!! (in the yellow department) Everyone else I do not own and are own by different folks!!

Some Info on Rem

Rem is the name of the business that the Dreamon’s run in this world. Its a shortened version of the name of their home dimension, MerreM.

REM is actually an acronym for Rapid Eye Movement sleep which is the stage of sleep where someone starts dreaming. However, the Dreamons and employees just call the company Rem.

A short history of Kaleidope Kounty

Pronounced (Kah-lie-doe-pee )

There is no historical record of what the area now known as Kaleidope was beforehand. Many folks have their beliefs and there are always rumors that float around but none with sufficient evidence to be trusted as fact.

What folks do know is that Kaleidope started as a trade route between multiple dimensions. The area on this planet where Kaleidope eventually came to be founded had a lot of spatial anomalies that allowed portals from various dimensions to form. Due to this, a sort of crossroads was established as creatures from all over the universe would pass through and even began to trade goods with one another.

Some Important Reminders

Hey folks!  I always want MO to be a fun community for everyone but more than that I want it to be a safe community.

No community is going to be perfect, there are just too many people with all sorts of backgrounds etc. Im not here to ask you all be angels. But one REALLY BIG THING I cannot and WILL NOT tolerate in the tag or in the community is  sexual/kink content being talked about or shown when there are minors present.

Remember that it is ILLEGAL to engage in any sort of sexual activity between an adult and a minor. That include, chatting online, showing them sexual content, voice chats, everything. This goes for kink stuff too. I’ve unfortunately found out after the fact some people use their kink blogs as their main rp blogs and Im sorry but thats not gonna be allowed. People visit blogs to learn more about the characters and I’ve heard a few unfortunately see some stuff they didnt want to see because said character blogs had NSFW content on it.

If you are an adult dont talk about this stuff with minors. I dont care if they approached you first, or said they were okay with it, or whatever, DONT. Minors, if you ever EVER have an adult talk with you about sexual/kink stuff, please let me know IMMEDIATELY. And avoid those people like the plague man.

Also another big thing, if someone asks you not to do something with their character, DONT DO IT. I think this is mostly going on in the chat, and Im not there but still. Its just common etiquette. If a person says not to do something with their character dont try and argue, just, dont do it.
