Maddy @ Jana through the first half of season 2

i watched wolfblood when it was on netflix and since im in the usa i cant watch it without difficulty. BUT i found a website that its on and HOLY FUCKING FUCK I CAT EVEN WITH THIS SHOW I SWEAR TO GOD I LOVE IT SO MUCH 

it not only is a good show but like the characters dude, the fucking characters. the fact that everyone has a real story behind them, just AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i love it so much. 

i think one of the things that really gets me about the maddian dynamic in maddy cool is that when maddy is acting out because of her recent transformation, rhydian won't embarrass her in front of anyone and call her out until they're on their own. and even though she's being snarky and prickly, he takes a gentle approach, telling her to run with him so she can work out her excess energy. it's only when she pushes too far that he actually expresses his irritation and anger at her, but it's always coming from a place of concern. like he didn't want to go to the party and they had just fought but he goes anyway just in case maddy shows up. the way he treats her in that episode is so telling, and i always thought occam's razor was when he realized he was falling for her but his behavior in maddy cool just confirms it for me because he is starting to show and verbalize his concern for her

I've already kinda done an appreciation post on my these two but, hey, why not do another one? I'm watching the show right now and I'm falling in love with them all over again. I mean, these are the kinds of teen relationships that everyone should know of when they're growing up. They're just so pure and sweet, it's the perfect kind of pair to watch when you don't believe in love anymore, because they'll reignite that.

The way they're best friends, running around in the woods together, fist-bumping, shoving each other around, making fun of each other, always side by side, how he's always over at her house. And the way they love each other, holding hands, protecting each other, piggybacking like how Maddy's parents do etc.

One of my favourite moment of theirs was Maddy's first full moon. Sure, Rhydian fakes an injury to make sure everyone stays on the island BUT he does it because he wants her first time as a wolf to be amongst nature and out in the open, free to do whatever she wants, as opposed to being locked up in her family's den all night. He wants her to experience what he has experienced. The day of, he reassures her that he'll look after her. And when it's time, when they're on the rocks, staring up at the moon, Maddy looks down at the dark veins in her hands in anxiety and Rhydian firmly pulls her by the elbow to face him, where he then holds her hand. They smile at each other and now she's anticipating the transformation excitedly. They both transform separatedly and their wolves start to kinda nuzzle each other, especially Rhydian's. It's so damn adorable, man!

The other favourite moments would be when they're protecting and defending each other. Whether it's the big scenes like in the Season 2 finale, when Rhydian, Shannon and Tom walk into the classroom to see a drawing of Maddy as a wolf on the whiteboard, in the midst of there being a huge panic over her family being exposed as wolfbloods. And the first thing they see when they go back to school is their classmates, including the one who couldn't mind his own business and is threatening to out Maddy and her family, showing off the "proof" video he recorded and then a drawing that mocks her. So Rhydian says, "who drew that?" and everyone just disperses, dead-silence, all looking at him in fear. They've all seen how much he loves Maddy and they know he's been in a few fights over less. And it just turns into an all-out fight between Jimi and his friends vs. Rhydian, Tom and Shannon.

OR I enjoy the little things like when Maddy and Shannon collide in Grave Consequences and Dr Whitewood points out that Maddy's lip is bleeding and Rhydian immediately pulls her to face him before hiding her behind him. Or the fact that the only person Maddy was the same with in Maddy Cool was Rhydian and even if it was a little different because their dynamic was a lot more charged (I guess), she was still at ease with him and they were still like puppies chasing each other.

honestly any interaction they have with jefferies is hilarious, especially katrina. completely insulting him lmao i love them

I just found out that Maddy is one of the few wolves that are considered small… my girl..

Wolfblood re-watch (Problem with Shannon)

Doing a rewatch of Wolfblood on Netflix and I just don’t understand how/why none of the characters told Shannon off for the terrible stuff she did. She made the same mistake again and again. Pretty much all throughout Series 1 she acts like it’s her absolute right to find out about the “beast” and then acts awful to her supposed best friend: following her, lying to her, accusing her (doesn’t matter if it was true), judging her. All kinds of terrible stuff. She acted like she was doing them a favor when it was really for her own selfish pursuits. I HATED that Maddy had to apologize to Tom and Shannon in 1x13. A life and death secret is not to be taken lightly. It’s not like Maddy just lied for the hell of it.

2x04: Maddy is rightfully concerned that Jana gave Shannon something that they have no clue how it will affect her, and Shannon gets mad at Maddy..for what? Being concerned?

Something I never understood is why Maddy’s parents didn’t sit Shannon down and lecture her that it was NOT OK that she filmed them and violated their privacy.

She stole Jana’s DNA and helped Kincaid with his craziness yet she was not held responsible for any of it. 

Filming Maddy and her family without their permission was a serious betrayal of friendship yet Maddy was the one who had to apologize? Why? Why does Shannon always get off scot free?

Also 2x09 (Dances with Wolfbloods). What the hell did Maddy have to be sorry for? She made Shannon a scrapbook to make her feel better…why? Because she RIGHTFULLY had Shannon delete data/videos that Shannon should have never taken in the first place? Shannon was the one who was 100% wrong in this situation and I was just left puzzled as to why Maddy felt remotely guilty for asking Shannon to do something that should have been done a LONG time ago. 

Maddy was only allowed to be angry about the mess from 2x06 (finding out what Shannon did) for like 10 minutes into 2x07. Not enough. She and her family deserved an apology but Shannon was too arrogant to give it (painting herself as the savior of all Wolfbloods when she was just a meddlesome kid with an ego.)

2x05: Shannon is yet AGAIN annoying as hell badgering Jana for more doldrink (sp?) even after Jana says NO. Like damn, Shannon needed to drop the entitled attitude.

A case where I actually agreed with Jana, they should have made Shannon delete everything she had or smashed her laptop.

I just get irritated that this girl is repeatedly allowed to violate her friends privacy against their will and there are no consequences. 

It has definitely made Shannon my least favorite Wolfblood character now that I look back at the show.
