“Is that what this is about?” Lin frowns, “You told me you were leaving in a few weeks and you will never have to think of me again.”

“When will you understand that I will want you until my dying day no matter where I am or who you are with?” Tenzin challenges, “regretting that I let things ever get this far.”

No and tbh I haven't considered it much.

Lol, I'm still deluding myself that I will eventually get them all done.

Tbh, I'm not sure. I just enjoy doing it and letting the feelings flow.

I think my descriptions could use some more work and I lean too much on dialogue. Also I find it hard to have an angsty ending even when that makes the most sense.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think it would be interesting and probably more reflective of a multicultural society but would only do it if I could do it confidently without Google translate.

I think I'm good with writing Linzin and reading the others.

One more WIP to add to my drafts. Modern Linzin where she is ex-United Forces while he is a young senator shaking things up and pissing people off in the process:

“Lin? Are you single?” Bumi wonders, attempting to be casual.

“Yes,” Lin looks at him strangely, “....why?”

“I just had a great idea. You two should pretend to be a couple,” Bumi suggests.

“Bumi, we don’t need to do that,” Tenzin shakes his head, “I think that just makes Lin’s job more complicated.”

“As much as I hate to agree…. He’s right,” Lin reluctantly agrees, “you still don’t know if your security team is compromised. If you did I’m sure Bumi wouldn't have had this meeting at your mom’s house under the guise of us all catching up.”

“Okay,” Tenzin nods.

“Does this mean you will take the job?” Bumi checks with Lin.

Councilman Tenzin is more familiar with being tied up in Chief Beifong's cables than any of Republic City's criminals will ever be (and it's his idea more often than you would think)

Hmmm... fall activity

So I sometime head cannon that Lin enjoys having her own little garden where she grows plants and seasonal veggies which expanded when she moved to the island.

When it gets to October is when Tenzin gets particularly involved with the garden. He has mastered one dish to make for Lin and its a Pumpkin Takari so he needs to ensure that the pumpkins are well taken care of.

In the fall they spend Saturday mornings tending to the garden by their house and check if there is anything ready to be eaten. A few dinners for the week are based on whatever they get and they will spend time in the kitchen together. When it's pumpkin based, Lin either sits by the table or on the counter to talk to Tenzin while he cooks. After dinner they get comfortable on the couch to share a blanket and occasional Lin's glasses while they read.

Garlic chili noodles with goosechicken from a vendor near the police station. During the day, Tenzin and her assistant have an arrangement for Lin to get them while she is at work. Most evenings he doesn't wait for her to crave them and makes sure to buy a serving with the goosechicken on the side even if they have plans or she said she wanted something different. If she wants them, it only takes a few minutes to warm them up for her. If she doesn't eat them that night or for breakfast, he knows what he is having for breakfast. Does he end up eating more garlic chilli noodles throughout the course of her pregnancy than his whole life before? Yes but it keeps his wife happy so he is happy.

A typical day would be eating breakfast with their kids and later grandkids before everyone is off to school and work. After that they sort of just wander the island choosing a spot to read , meditate and possibly nap during that day. Depending on the day they may take Oogi out for a few hours or tbh disappear for a day or two. Evenings are spent at their home listening to the news and making something for dinner together. Tbh, there are some days where all they want to do is stay in bed and cuddle so that’s what happens.

In terms of big plans? They make a whole list of places they have wanted to visit but didn’t because of their various duties and make their way through them one by one, always returning to the city for family events big and small.

Yes but accidentally. They were in their 20s on a visit to the Northern Air Temple with the Gaang when they wanted to sneak off and Tenzin being fairly unfamiliar with this particular temple just pulls Lin into a random room. It’s only after the fact when Aang is giving Tenzin the grand tour that he realises what the room was.

So I think the first time, Oogi starts being protective to the point that Tenzin thinks he accidentally did something to the bison. He spends about three weeks trying to figure it out and attempting to bribe the bison until Oogi nuzzles Lin’s stomach to everyone’s confusion. That’s the point when Katara checks if anything is wrong only to find out Lin is pregnant.

Ofc this happens for the other pregnancies but those times Tenzin is like “honey, I think you are pregnant again.”

She does from time to time especially when she instinctively reaches for it.

In a world where they are together and he is more secure about his purpose, growing back his hair might be his midlife crisis

At first it was Lin but as Tenzin became less shy , he eventually became more likely to initiate.

I think they both have a favourite memory. Tenzin’s is christening his desk as councilman after his first council meeting. He spent the whole meeting just gawking at his wife and the moment they are alone in his office he lets her know exactly what was running through his mind. For Tenzin watching her in the council meeting present as chief reminds him he got everything he’s really wanted out of life. He has this family with the love of his life, he’s finally on the council , airbending lives on through one of his children and he gets to watch his wife live out one of her life’s dreams. In the meeting he is just so grateful and awestruck at the same time and wants his wife to know just how much he loves her. Did it take the form of him clearing his desk? Yes. Did he have to spend the hour after she left tidying his desk and avoiding his assistant? Yes but it was so worth it.

Lin’s memory is at the end of a rough patch when Tenzin tells her they are taking the weekend off to work things out. The kids would be with his siblings and they would be spending the weekend in a cabin just outside the city limits. They talked and argued for hours before eventually agreeing on their way forward. Lin was used to good make up sex but Tenzin taking her against the wall of that cabin was something completely different that makes her tingle thinking about it to this day.
