Unpopular opinion but Diana Giabaldon or whatever the fuck her name is, she's a shit author and a washed up. Her talents are great for torturing gay men who are apparently deemed unworthy of even the basics of happiness. According to her, they're allowed to barely exist, as closeted, self hating men in cis het relationships who are in constant fear of being outed/killed and often have severe unresolved sexual trauma, but no more than that. That is not life, at that point, that is a fate worse than death. Diana is clearly a homophobe and I'm not interested in reading ANY of her books ever. It is beyond me to think that bad representation is better than no representation. It behooves me to think she even has an inkling of understanding of what our community is like. How DARE she try and fuckin write all that incestuous, rapey and time bending shit, only to stop at something as miniscule as this!? Come the fuck on! I'm amazed that she has this much ignorance about the LGBTQ community in the first place, considering the fact that she willingly had Claire marry a dude that's potentially her fuckin ancestor and gives birth to his baby in the 50s or whatever. It's cowardice and laughable at this point and nothing she says should be taken seriously.

Also, I get that her fiance was nice to her and his death resulted in her having to hide to pretend to be dead so her psycho quasi-father-in-law wouldn’t off her but (a) the reason hot stuff killed the man was because fiance was trying to murder a defenseless 12 year old!!! and (b) offering to replace the fiance you killed with yourself is about as equivalent exchange as you can get. 

Tasty! But girl, if Li Qin can forgive Darren Wang in The Wolf for offing her whole family on orders and then acting like a jerk, it’s no wonder you got over ONE murder, especially since while the man is not as tasty as Wolfie, he’s also a hella a lot saner.
