Creating an Image for a Con Card
There are a number of ways to make a suitable image for a plastic con card. Below Iāve put a step by step guide in GIMP (a free image editing tool. You can download itĀ here). Iāve also included a link to some assets that can be used in creating a con card. Please note that if you use some of the provided templates as-is, your card wonāt be as unique as it could be! The fun is when everyone has their own unique card.

- an email address you can send pictures and text to for help. There are a few people who have offered to handle these types of requests - if youād also like to help, please let me know! If youāre asking for help, please keep your requests simple!
For Fannibal Fest Toronto, I printed a small number of plastic cards with preferred names, twitter/tumblr, and preferred pronouns, for friends to hang on their lanyards. They were just a few extra cards that I had so it was only a few but they were a big hit! So...for RDC5, I will be offering to print more. I will print up to 200 cards on a first come, first served basis. Here is what you need to do:
1) Create your image!
Create an image of dimensionsĀ 3.375 x 2.125 inches with a dpi of at least 150 (this includes some bleed, so assume some will be lost around the edges!). This is 506 x 319 pixels. The image can be laid out vertical (hanging from the short edge) or horizontal (hanging from the long edge). I wonāt be punching them but will be bringing a slot punch for people to use when they pick them up.
Make sure your image is laid out in such a way that you can punch a slot in it without losing anything important!
You could include things like the name youād like people to call you, the user name(s) people may know you by, your preferred pronouns, or even your icon if itās specific and people might recognise it!
Save your image in a common format (eg jpg, png)
2) Email your image to sugarmausconcards@gmail.com
3) Find me at RDC5 and I will give it to you!
Please ONLY SEND ME AN IMAGE IF:
1) You are going to be at RDC5 in February
2) You will pick it up!
3) Youāre actually including info in the image (I wonāt print just photos/images with no text)
4) You have the permission from the artist in the case of fanart
Edit to add:
I do not have the capacity to do image editing for people, not with 200 to print (thatās a lot of labour as is!). If you send me just an image with nothing on it/or not the right dimensions, it will not be printed. If you need help, please ask someone in the fandom. There are many people with basic PhotoShop or gimp skills! I will put together a step by step Gimp tutorial for setting an image to the right size and adding text. I will email anyone back whose image is unusable to give the a chance to fix it prior to January!

So finally Madsā autograph is in my art book! Since the tweet (https://twitter.com/sugarmaus/status/1003187838089875457?s=19) has been popular, I want to share the story of my time with Mads at BFCC!
So I arrived on the Saturday and due to the building and waning of the queue, it was quiet so I went for it. I had been planning on getting Hugh, Mads and Bryan to all sign the first page in my limited edition art book but Hugh at RDC3 who was first up, did the full page (right in the photo). I loved it though! Made a quick rearrangement and had Bryan sign the back of that page and planned for Mads to sign the inside cover.
So back to BFCC - I put the book in front of him and he immediately was looking at Hughās page. I said that it was Hugh and I would love for him to take the other side. He was sitting there thinking for a bit before he started writing āNo Sarahā (I spelled my name for him haha) and then he paused to draw the arrow and kept writing. He even paused at the second L in actually! He was grinning then and said āSee? Because I drugged him! Itās really my design.ā (I love so much when Mads talks about Hannibal in the first person.)
He finished before going back to write āHannibalā and underlining it (probably to fill the extra space!
Anyway, I loved that he made it a little joke and I think the whole double spread looks AMAZING! He was so pleased with himself on the whole thing.
As a bonus - I gave him a whiskey giftset of Writers Tears (telling him that even though he isnāt a whiskey drinker, I had to get it for him since his work has inspired a lot of them!). He found it very amusing and I think he thought it actually was a book because he was surprised when he opened it and there were 3 little bottles of whiskey inside! Delicious whiskey in beautiful packaging.

A lot of the time, fics just get forgotten. People do read, the hits occasionally go up, but no one ever says anything. To know that you enjoyed it does mean a lot and to know that youāre reading the rest of my work is amazing! Iām getting back into writing properly after a long dry spell.

SALE of remaining copies, printed and digital - and some newsš
Alright, the replacement copies have reached their respective owners and so we will now put up the remaining printed copies on Etsy so you can buy them as you want!!
Please note that this is a pretty heavy book (2kg), so international shipping is expensive. Each printed copy comes with the digital goodies, just as the original Kickstarter tiers did.
We know, we always said we didnāt plan to do it, but we were asked almost on a daily basis if there wasnāt a way to at least buy the PDF version of Radiance since a second edition of the printed book was (and definitely is!!) out of question.Ā
So, we caved eventually due to popular demand and will put a PDF download version of Radiance on our Etsy store alongside the remaining few printed copies. Also, weāre putting up the slightly damaged books for a drastically reduced price (with photos of course), check them out if you want to.
Please note that we are still strictly non-profit and all the earnings will be donated. Two charities weāve chosen are Amnesty International and the Rainbow railroad, for probably obvious reasons. We have also decided to give a part of the proceeds to the @fannibalfest-toronto so it will stay in a project that will benefit Fannibals directly in the future. Ā
The remaining funds from the Kickstarter will also be distributed accordingly, weāll split whateverās left after RDC4 (weāll do the totaling then) to these choices.
As a side note - we have decided that we will do another anthology, a Hannibal centered anthology called RAVAGE to complete the Trilogy of Fannibal anthologies :)
We will rename this blog and set up everything without the time pressure this time.Ā

We have said that we probably wonāt do an anthology for this fandom again, especially afterā¦ some of what happened during Radiance. And itās true. We wonāt do the same thing again.
This - this sister project - was planned almost from the start. We mulled over the blog name long before the Kickstarter for Radiance and now, without stepping on another anthologyās proverbial toes, we decided to go ahead and plan it.
We have proven we can do it (see āRADIANCEā).

How did you become a Fannibal?Ā
I had read Thomas Harrisā books in my late teens and always enjoyed Anthony Hopkinsā performance as Hannibal in the films (though they sadly reduced in quality as they went on), so when I heard there was to be a tv version I watched it the moment the first episode was available. I didnāt go full āfanā of the show right away. I am a casual fan of lots of things but it takes a certain something to make me tip into full on fangirl passion. At the end of the first season, when the relationship between Hannibal and Will shifted, when Will was the one locked up, it truly grabbed me and I couldnāt look away. Here was a show that had created a really interesting dynamic, here was something I wanted to scream and flail over and write about. Thatās when I went from a casual watcher to realising that this was my next fandom! (Iām a one fandom at a time sort).
What do you love about the Hannibal fandom?Ā
The friendliness of the fandom. I have met some (I hope) life-long friends through this show. I have met people from so many different backgrounds and lives and this one thing we have in common is enough to bring people together. Here I am several years in and still new people are joining the family and sharing and creating together around their passion. I think thatās something really special.
How would you like to spend a day with Will Graham?
I think Iād just want to follow him around (invisible preferably!) a nice fly-on-the-wall situation. I think that would be fascinating and Iād get to see the hidden parts that happen in those gaps between episodes! It would be wonderful to see the day-to-day version of Will. Iād like to ask him lots of questions and converse with him too but of course - I donāt think heād be willing to do that. I canāt blame him, itās one of his qualities that many identify with and he wouldnāt be Will if he wasnāt like that.
