His eyebrow arches with a truly insulting lack of impressment. Then he draws back, keeping the blade fitted snugly against Taako’s throat, and gives Taako a critical once-over. It doesn’t seem to clarify anything for him. His brow knits.
The Prince of the Winterlands tips his head in confusion and says, not unkindly, “What in the name of god are you doing?”

Taako is nobody’s saboteur. He’s just an ordinary assassin just trying to make ends meet, staying out of trouble (mostly) and keeping his nose clean (sometimes). But when a mysterious buyer makes him an offer he can’t refuse in exchange for the head of the neighboring prince, he ends up falling headfirst into the tangle of a foreign court — and the arms of its ruler, Prince Kravitz.
“I guess it wouldn’t be fair if we got to keep everything,” John says. He’s doing his best to stay upbeat, and he still sounds bright, but everyone can tell he’s upset.

So I just read the new chapter of Neon Bible and I've kinda been crying the whole time? like just bc i forgot how happy it made me and like also because I got emo a Jane and Jake reconnecting and just everything? You're such a good writer and you capture every character youve writen for so so well along with like, the tone? like with how the strilondes talk to each other for example, I dont think ive seen someone write their dialogue as well as you do
thank you so much! ;_; this really means so much to me. i do my best to keep the characters IC, but at the end of the day it all boils down to whether my interpretation of them rings true for other people, and knowing that it does for some makes me feel so good about the fic as a whole. thank you for sticking with the fic despite the hiatus, it means the world
