Amazing solution to getting fans not to spoil the ending to yr murder mystery VN despite achieving massive name recognition is to cater all but exclusively to the kinds of fans who will spend all their poasts about it getting into ideological fights or making the two male leads kiss

I legit thought DE was a game about one guy navigating his nervous breakdown. I didn't know there was really a murder. I thought that was probably a lie his brain told him.

Thinking about how much Akihiko used to touch Haruki even back when they were friends, and how that suddenly had to stop when they had their falling out.

Suddenly, Haruki couldn't even stand to be in the same room as him. Even when they tentatively rebuilt their friendship, it had changed so that Akihiko still had to keep his distance.

Unfortunately for him, he also realized in those months that he was in love with Haruki.

He did touch Haruki once, awkwardly and still hesitantly, when Ugetsu hurt him again when Akihiko told him he was leaving him for good. Akihiko must've been lonely, enough to all but beg Haruki to stay with him that night.

It was clearly a moment of weakness though, because he didn't really touch Haruki again after that. He must've been itching to do so, all that time. When he confessed and asked for Haruki's permission to touch him, his hands probably trembled from more than just nerves.

It must've been a relief to finally be able to touch Haruki again. The way he clung to Haruki once allowed, and continues to cling to him afterwards, makes one wonder how difficult those months of *nothing* had been for someone so into touching yet so touch-starved as Akihiko.

I love desire paths. There's something so wonderous about seeing an echo of humanity. Depending on it's location, a desire path can mean so many different things.

In a city, like the pic above, they represent rebellion, and efficiency. The messiness of humanity. We like to imagine we're oh so logical and neat so we design our cities to be logical and neat an then real humans literally trample on that idea. The ego required to think you can design something perfect that checks every box. Life is all about compromise and patching stuff when some new problem arises. Though people have certainly tried! Ohio state univeristy let students carve their desire paths, and then paved them over. It looks pretty artsy.

Some people will try to discourage desire paths, but this is almost always going to fail.

Eventually, people just have to accept them. Humans are too dang stubborn.

Certain desire paths are just adorable. A 0.5 second time saver. You just can't design for maximum efficiency, humans will always find shortcuts!

Though on occasion a desire path can actually be the least efficient way...especially if you're superstitious.

In a wilder area, such as below, they show us the curiosity of humans. A desire path somewhere natural often tells you there's something interesting just ahead. (Though remember some ecosystems are fragile and will suffer if trampled! Stick to paths in these sorts of areas)

And how about desire stairs? I always think these look so cool. We get see humans determination to climb, to traverse every kind of terrain.

And for something really crazy...a desire path used for centuries will create a 'holloway'

All of these pics are off the Desirepath subreddit, check them out for more examples! And many thanks to the users who submitted these photos.

~~Given sequel and what we've got so far~~

We've gotten only two(2) chapters of the sequel so far and I personally think, the stage for the next arc is already set.

Given does follow a pattern in story-telling if you pay attention to it. And it does address one issue a couple (the main two couples) at a time meticulously.

The first arc was about RitsuMafu, and the plot was Mafuyu falling in love with Ritsuka and being forced to face his trauma from his ex's suicide and doing whatever was needed to move on from it, taking first steps towards healing.

Likewise the second arc was about AkiHaru, and the plot was Akihiko realising the extent of his feelings for Haruki and being forced to face his trauma of being in a longterm abusive relationship and doing whatever was needed to break free from the toxic cycle he was stuck in.

sometimes i just gotta think about akihiko waking up and seeing haruki in the kitchen first thing in the morning while he was staying at haruki's apartment cz looking at haruki's apartment layout, the couch akihiko sleeps at is directly facing the kitchen and how much akihiko must have stared at haruki cooking, listening to music with his headphones, and how the first thing he sees as he open his eyes is haruki
