You all have been rather prolific in your recommendations of music. This pleases Me.
Shall I, once again, go song by song and briefly tell you what I think of them?
This is a quite touching song. Its simplicity, and how his tone shows he believes what he is singing makes it a truly charming love song.
I believe this is one of the many, many songs My darling Grace has showed appreciation for in the past. Another lovely country ballad, certainly, with an interesting electric guitar solo.
Ah. A “breakup” song, from the sound of it. I can appreciate the raw and pained quality of his tone here, as well as the guitar work. Although, given the two other songs I’ve listened to beforehand, it does not stand out as well as it might otherwise.
Though I am quite familiar with the original (and quite lovely) rendition by Louis Armstrong, I thought I’d share Ms. Brightman’s version with you, seeing as you did not specify the singer (as there are many cover versions in the world). Hers is from her 2003 album “Harem” and her light soprano wafts over a Middle Eastern inspired electronic music bed. It’s not like any version of the song I’ve heard before or since.
I can hear the influence of multiple genres in this song. Regrettably, how the song is mixed muddies the instrumentation and drowns out the vocals. For want of a proper mix engineer, the song has been lost.
Ah, yes. The crystalline vocals of the one and only Amy Lee. Excellent choice, My love.
Interestingly enough, it was originally an Italian pop song by Francesca Michielin, and was called “L’amore esiste”. Ms. Lee had heard the song playing on an Italian radio station, and fell in love with it instantly... Much like how the song describes love itself.
It is truly an arresting song, in any language.
This is one of the better tracks I’ve heard from this artist, I believe. It seems, for this song at least, Celldweller has found a balance between their affinity for metal, electronic and pop music.
Thank you, all. This was an enjoyable listening experience.
..And yes, I have been quite well, albeit rather busy as of late. Thank you for asking.
