YALLFEST Books

Finally figured out what books need to go to YALLFEST and what needs to be ordered.  Upon finishing, I realized I had problems.

Problem 1:  Where am I going to find the money to get all these amazing books?

Problem 2:  When I do buy these books, where are they going to live?

Problem 3:  How am I going to get all these beautiful babies signed?  I’M ONLY ONE PERSON!

Problem 4:  YALLFEST only lasts for two days!  Seriously, this needs to be a week long event because there’s just so much!

Creating art is a lonely task, which is why we introverts revel in it, but when we have fans looming over us, it becomes loneliness of a different sort. We become caged animals watched by zoo-goers, expected to perform lest the crowd grow bored or angry. It's not always bad. Sometimes we do well, and the cage feels more like a pedestal.

Made You Up

So the other day, I decided to take a break from writing constantly to reading constantly. My first book: Made You Up by Francesca Zappia. I knew walking into this book, it was dealing with mental illness, specifically schizophrenia, but that didn't deter me in the least. It typically takes me about a week to finish reading a book but I had this one finished in a day and a half because I just couldn't put it down. When I thought I was starting to figure things out, it went the other way, which I both loved and hated. At times, it can be a hard book to read because it feels real and that can be scary but I feel like it's honest and I can ask for anything better in a book.
