A Potter never accepts a defeat.

He had kept trying, trying, trying.

He was on the right path. 

The trees’ naked branches were perfectly still, the castles’ cavities as silent as the approaching Christmas holiday allowed. There was no wind, and thank Merlin, because James Potter was about to ice on spot, even inside the dormitory.

His eyes scanned the grounds, the earth muffled under the thick layer of last night’s frozen rain, and he smiled a goofy smile. He tore his gaze from the window, and swung around to get his muffles before sprinting down the wooden stairs. His hand grabbed the last newel post, almost ripping it from its place, to facilitate his change in direction as he zoomed toward the exit.

The common room was warm from the crackling fire in the chimney, the regular murmured conversations and ocasional laughs formed a pleasant buzzing. James thought that the place had never been this wonderful. But today, everything was.

“Where are you running to?”

Peter’s sarcastic question hung in the air, but it did not matter. Everybody knew the answer.

An icy smirk cracked his bluish lips. Of course, it couldn’t.

Nothing could.

Santa chuckles loudly attracting quite a few stares including Harry’s. “That’s a fancy way of saying old. I think I know what you want for Christmas.”

“You do?” Hermione is surprised. She’d been in the mind that she had everything she could ever need.

Mr. Claus hums in agreement. “It’s that boy there, isn’t it? He’s who you want for Christmas.”

Day 10-

With a trembling finger, Hermione hits the play button.

“Hey!” A blonde man she doesn’t know greets her, “I’m Andrew, and you must be Mione!” A voice in the background rebukes him. “Sorry, I’ve just been told I can’t call you that. Apparently, the nickname’s reserved. […]”

The video blurs in waves of color, until it gets stable again, framing a well-known dimple smile, “Right from the headquarters of Buzzfeed UK! I’ll be back in about an hour.”

And, casually, he blows a kiss to the camera, before ending the recording.

“You’re blushing again,” Teddy says.

This time, Hermione doesn’t even deny it.

This is the official Claiming Post! Please read the following carefully before claiming a prompt:

The prompt list can be found here! Hopefully you can find something you like there, but if not, please note that self-prompting is also welcome! (If you are going down that route, then please only fill out the Self-prompt portion of the form with a little description of what you’ll be creating, and mark the First Choice and Second Choice fields as N/A.)

Please fill in both the First and Second Choice fields (if you’re not self-prompting). On the off chance that your first selection was already snatched up, you will be given your second.

You may only claim one prompt at a time. However, once you have submitted your first piece, you are free to come back and select another! (And please know that your mod strongly encourages this behavior…;D)

To claim a prompt, please fill out this Google Form.

Please allow at least 24-48 hours to receive a confirmation email. Don’t freak out if you don’t hear from me right away! The most likely case is that I’ve seen your claim, but I haven’t had a minute to actually sit down and send off the email.

When you’re finished and ready to submit your work, please do so using the header below:

All submissions must be emailed to the mod account, rdfestmod@gmail.com. In the subject line of your email, please enter your username, whether your submission is fic, art, or other, and your prompt number. Please also let me know what your AO3 username is so that I can get your work ready to be posted there.

If your fic requires any html coding - such as italics or bold text - you are responsible for making sure that code is in your document. Your mod will NOT be adding any of that in for you. Whether or not the code is not included, your submission will be posted as is - so if you want it in there, please make sure to double check before sending your entry in.

All submissions will be hosted on AO3, at the Ron/Draco Fest collection. Feel free to check it out, but please do not post your submissions there. Instead, please see above for info on how to submit your work to the mod.

Blaise took some time to realise there was something odd with how sometimes Theodore Nott sneaked off the Slytherin common room, and came back almost by the time he would get in trouble for being out. For months, Blaise assumed he was just going to the library as he did almost everyday. For reading and writing his essays which was a very Theodore Nott thing to to, with his brilliant intelligence and his determination.

But, the more he paid attention to him, and Blaise Zabini paid a lot of attention to Theodore Nott, he started to notice Theo didn’t carry around his books or his parchment, not even his quilt, he just walked out with a tattered bag hanging from his shoulder, which was mysteriously emptier the moment he came back home.

Blaise was not, of course, obsessed. Of course not. There was just this slight curiosity, just that. Just because Theo was somehow someone who didn’t seem to do what everyone else did, not because Blaise didn’t think he was one of the most intriguing and interesting people in his year, or even his house.

Hello, Dron lovers!

Yes, let’s rejoice; Ron/Draco Fest will be returning for it’s next round in 2019! All dates are remaining the same from our previous rounds. You can find the schedule of events below.

Guys! IT’S HAPPENING!

Yeah, if you thought I was done bombarding you all with my fest stuff when Drizzle ended yesterday, you were very, very wrong. ;)

if only i had thorns like a thistle

“i think i love blaise.” theo whispered, but his voice was so low pansy almost missed it, almost because she was more than used to theo’s habit of communicating by mumbles.

a faint smile appeared on her face. of course she knew, everyone with eyes on their faces knew how theo fancied blaise, and how mutual the whole situation was, with blaise studying theo’s face in the library with more dedication than any book he ever owned.

but it was still theo. quiet, shy and reserved theo the one who made the step about talking about it. whatever it was, it was troubling him enough for making him speak, and pansy wanted to honour that by letting theo do it his way.

so pansy didn’t really say anything, she just nodded and smiled, and waited for theo to go on with whatever his train of thoughts was. but, it seemed that it hit what he said just yet, and he started to flush, looking down, playing with the fabric of his trousers, and back to his mumbling, but this time, so low and so fast, not even pansy could catch what was all about.
