Ranking some random terrible Irish representation in American media as an Irish person
(In a completely biased way)
1. Rory Flanagan from Glee
- The actor won the Glee project with his quirky trait literally just being that he’s Irish -5
- They dressed him like he from the 50’s and often in green -5
- Made him act like a leprechaun and talk about lucky charms (we don’t even have them in Ireland) -5
- Made him sing IT’S NOT EASY BEING GREEN BY KERMIT THE FROG -20
- Actor to be fair didn’t like all this and talked about how stereotypical it was +5
= -30/10
2. Scarah Screams from the monster high web series
- Accent is HEINOUS -10
- Skin and clothes are green -5
- Aesthetic is really cute though +5
- Is a banshee +5
- I’m biased and am an adult monster high collector +10
=5/10
3. The Irish vampire coven from twilight (the movie series)
- In it for like five seconds -5
- One of them is ginger of course -5
- Vile accents -10
- Not very modern clothes -5
- So bad it’s funny +10
=-15/10
4. “Celtic demon summoning spell book” from Buffy the vampire slayer
- They say Celtic even though it’s specifically Irish -5
- It’s quite literally a random excerpt they got from an Irish newspaper about a NEW BUS LANE OPENING IN DUBLIN!!!! -500
=-505/10
btw the majority of your life will be lived as a adult. yeah i don't make the rules. go have fun in your 40s or 70s or whatever. no one expects you to accomplish everything at 17 or 27. you've got time and in the meantime get some life experience, it will pay off

my orc bard in Pathfinder is named Gronk Ballspeaker
“This is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,” she said with a smile.
“Unless you are following the dialogue with an action and not a dialogue tag.” He took a deep breath and sat back down after making the clarifying statement.
“However,” she added, shifting in her seat, “it’s appropriate to use a comma if there’s action in the middle of a sentence.”
“True.” She glanced at the others. “You can also end with a period if you include an action between two separate statements.”
Things I didn’t know
“And–” she waved a pen as though to underline her statement–“if you’re interrupting a sentence with an action, you need to type two hyphens to make an en-dash.”
You guys have no idea how many students in my advanced fiction workshop didn’t know any of this when writing their stories.
