Jin Guangyao building a whole shady temple, filled with lacky monks in what is supposed to be Jiang Cheng's territory and province, says all it needs to that Jiang Cheng does not actually give a shit about any of the settlements and cities he supposedly is supporting.

Also says exactly what Jin Guangyao was comfortable doing right under a sect leader's nose and knowing just who he can go right under because of their apathy towards civilians only.

Why cant some people just enjoy JC without having to spend hours writing out posts to justify his shitty behavior?

I like JC as a character. I enjoy him as a foil to both WWX and LWJ. What makes me NOT like him is when you see takes all over Twitter or any other platform going: “I just don’t understand how people can dislike him. He had trauma!! If anything WEI WUXIAN SHOULD ATONE!!”

I think it’s both equal parts amusing and frustrating how people write Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian’s relationship in fanfiction because they clearly know how Wei Wuxian acts with the people he loves-

He’s clingy, teasing, praises them often, generally thinks the world of them and constantly says as much, always keeps their comfort in mind, and whines to them constantly about things that don’t really bother him because he knows they will indulge him.

-And yet they somehow fail to notice, even while including all these things into their relationship in their story, how Wei Wuxian fails to demonstrate any of these same actions with Jiang Cheng in the novel.

I wouldn’t say Wei Wuxian doesn’t care about Jiang Cheng at all but how he treats Jiang Cheng can really not be compared to the way he treats Jiang Yanli or Lan Wangji.

That play whining he does with Jiang Yanli and Lan Wangji? He does that because he trusts them to indulge him and receive the comfort and affection he’s asking for. Wei Wuxian complains to Jiang Cheng plenty but I can’t recall a single moment in which Wei Wuxian went to Jiang Cheng for comfort, support, or displayed any kind of vulnerability to him on purpose.

There’s isn’t even really any friendly bickering or teasing between them in the novel. There’s Jiang Cheng criticizing Wei Wuxian and complaining and Wei Wuxian waving off his comments.

Even Wei Wuxian’s biggest show of care to Jiang Cheng, giving up his golden core, feels to me like it never would have happened if Wei Wuxian hadn’t been raised to feel indebted to the Jiang’s and like it was his responsibility to keep the sect going.

It’s just… jarring honestly.

I came across an old fic in ao3, saw the comment and laughed! The way the Author replied to one of JC's apologist is... Incredible. 🤣🤣

Did I just read a post that calling YZY, that abusive purple bitch, a good leader? The YZY decided to slap and humiliate WLJ because the dumb bitch mentioned putting supervisory office at Lotus Pier, but then failed to silent the bitch forever to stop her from releasing the signal for Wens to attack, which would have bought more time for the Jiangs to defend and retreat? Uhm, all I see is irrational and dumb decision from the YZY's "good" leadership skill.

Also, what the fuck with "JFM didn't even try to show love and care to JC"? Did they collectively ignore his bitch of a wife sabotaged his relationship with his son by constantly yapping "JFM loved WWX more than his own son"? Uhm, JFM at least carried JC around 5 times, unlike YZY who only ever hugged him when she was about to die. There were no where in the novel showing YZY did any parenting besides comparing JC to WWX and reminding JC that JFM didn't love him (again full of crap). Comparing to JFM, there was literally a passage indicating JFM tried to guide and discipline JC to be a good leader and adhere to the Jiangs' motto. Again, too bad his bitch of a wife did everything to make sure JC adhere to none of the Jiangs's teaching.

Also, JFM was the one get the puppies for JC because his son couldn't make any friends, until he brought back an orphan from the street to become new playmate for his son.

If YZY didn't know how to express love to her son, fine, though that still landed her at "bad mom" category. But to gaslight and manipulate your own son that his daddy didn't love him enough when the dad actually spent quality time to teach him to be a good person due to your petty and imaginative jealousy？LOL, that is an acme of terrible parenting right there.
