“We’re trained to be like, ‘If I’m not exceptional, I won’t be loved.’ Certainly, I think that was my thing,” Gatwa shared. “So, yeah, I think I’m just learning now like, ‘Oh, you are allowed to be loved.’ You don’t have to be excellent or aspire to that term, ‘Black excellence’. What the hell?”

He continued, “There’s so much white mediocrity that gets celebrated, and Black people, we have to be absolutely flawless to get half of [that] anyway. So, I’m slowly training myself out of that and being like, ‘No shit. You deserve love just for existing.’ And that has taught me to be a lot more loving as well, in a weird way.”

A strangled, burbling hiss burst from Malekith's mouth, followed by a trail of orange-tinted blood. Fuck, there was so much blood. Blood and broken pieces scattered throughout his body like the wreckage of a crash site, and wasn't that ironic. It was from such a wreckage he'd first emerged with this face.

The former Dark Elf sucked in a breath--then immediately devolved into a rattling coughing fit. He swore internally, a mix of his language and hers, while his hearts rang loud and painfully slow in his ears.

'Not a lot of time left, Malekith.' The old voice called from somewhere far away. 'What are you gonna do?'

Several long seconds passed before the burning inside him subsided enough to peer up at the Vigilante. A different feeling, still strong but unrelated to the pain, swam through him. She looked so...desperate. Frightened. Heart-broken, he thought, and as he did, he forced himself to raise a blood-soaked hand. It came to rest for a moment against her cheek, but the dark liquid provided too slippery, and his hand dropped beside him again with a harsh thud. Wasn't that morbidly poetic.

"I'm...sorry," he rasped, gazing up at her with hazy eyes. "I wish..." he hissed again, gritting his teeth. I wish we'd had more time together.

Death always seem to come when she becomes resigned with just being with them. Accustomed to the other around, in her life. Attached.

And here she was - losing yet another person she grew more attached to. To think: that traveling must be your constant. That the thought of deciding to make a new life, to retire from it, to be on your own with someone - more than one someone even - and death comes again.

Not before - not later when you're settled - now. In the moment you choose to set up a new permanent home. Before one can be intergrated in the local society or gossip or known as the town's title of schtick here.

No, Death and her never really found mutual peace. Unintentional Loopholes - sure, but where was the one loophole here?

He told her as much - there wasn't any regeneration this time (but, with her streak, that was never really a choice) - he was going to die as a Dark Elf.

She held him, crying because bargaining and fighting nearly killing Death themselves with her own hand never brought back who she lost. Not technically. Not all the way.

Loopholes.

Crying and holding because as long as she clings onto him - despite the blood, despite the choked coughs, his blood painted hand reaching to streak along a corner of her cheek - as long as she clutch on then, he won't leave her.

His death won't be engraved like the other's that haunt her. Something about seeing them properly die despite technically - even highly selectively - having them back was not the same but was rather ghosts of a different name.

And he too - if she get even another sliver of luck out here this far in the future - could do the same.

It was never now, though. No, she was never that lucky. Always later.

And so she began to rock as she cried. Even as he spoke in rasped whispers because he could choke on his words if he spoke any louder.

She knew what he meant, what he wished. She always knew, even unspoken. It was her specter.

And she was never granted that.

Wishing for more time with her - from fourty year olds, three year olds, and now billion year olds - was always Death's favored spot to reap when it came to her.

"It's all my fault again... I blinked." was all she could croak out in stammered sobs.

My dad sends me. Doctor Who character analysis sometimes and here's his latest:

11, more than any other Doctor, is the reason that River says, "Never let the Doctor see you get older." Rose, Martha, Amelia, Clara, Billie, Ryan, and Yaz are all young, all full of a sense of wonder for the things that the Doctor shows them. Donna is an adult. She first decided to become a companion because she was in a rut and wanted to run away from that. So 10 thought she would be like the the others. On their first trip, 9 showed Rose the end of the Earth. When she assumes that he is going to save the Earth, he corrected her. Stating that this is an unchangeable event. From the beginning, he trains her not to question his judgement on what he says cannot be changed. Donna was too old to fall for that and pushes back constantly. Okay, so you can't save everyone in Pompeii, then just save one person. It isn't an all or nothing proposition. He learned from that and tried to do better. Until he got too arrogant and tried to save someone he really should have let die. But then he became 11, the Doctor who forgets. The one who keeps running away more than any other. 200 years running away from Lake Silence. Years in a cloud over Victorian London. Years spent in a monastary.

If he can't save everyone, then fine. He won't save anyone.

Then he became 12, with a face to remind him of Donna's lesson.

USEFUL SITES FOR ROLEPLAYERS

Thought I'd make a list of some useful websites for those of us who enjoy roleplaying and what have you here on Tumblr and whatnot.

  • roleplay formatter: Made by the awesome @rpclefairy. I honestly can't recommend this one enough. Great for adding color, changing the font size, and the whole shebang with bold + italics + underline + strikethrough. 10/10 always use
  • fsymbols + emojipedia: These are both great for making your tags fancy and whatnot.
  • alt codes: This is genuinely great for teaching you how to make the symbols with your keyboard for everyday use so there's that. It's especially useful if you and/or your muses speak a second language so that's a bonus.
  • text color fader: *marge vc* I just think gradient effects on text is neat. *end marge vc*
  • list of colors (wikipedia): Has a list of an infinite number of colors and their hex codes. Very useful if I do say so, myself. But that's just me.
  • screencapped.net: Great for getting all sorts of screenshots for making icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot.
  • fancaps.net: Also great for getting all sort of screencaps for making icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot. My only complaint is that it's a little annoying to navigate so here's the proper links to movies, tv shows, and anime.
  • photopea: Great if you can't afford Photoshop and/or don't like using GIMP.
  • hakuneko: It's not so much a website as much as it is a program. You can download manga, comics, webtoons, doujinshi, etc. for making your icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot. It's also just a great way to read stuff and catch up on everything.
