Hello! I recently found your blog and it's amazing! I was curious if you had any tips for beginners drawing anatomy?

Hey there! Thank you ♥ Well, I’m not very good at it yet but I guess I have some ressources that might interest you.First tip if you’re just starting out, keep a good anatomy book close to you when drawing. That way you can check and see if what you are drawing is right or not. Other than that, there is an exercice that really helped me learning and understanding the main muscles : 1/ Take a nude image as reference2/ Draw the pose by doing the skeleton first and then the muscles. Don’t try to copy the model exactly as you see it, but try to understand the main volumes. That’s something I still struggle with, but once you start to get that, it is much easier to construct you own characters. Try to do this every day, at least once a day so you forget whant you learned the day before.I have no idea if you’re already familiar or not with the most “popular" references, so I’m going to list a few.Websites for online figure drawing :- https://www.quickposes.com/en/gestures/randomhttps://line-of-action.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/A few anatomy and figure drawing books I use:Bridgman’s Complete Guide to Drawing from LifeDynamic Anatomy by Burne HogarthFigure Drawing for All It’s Worth by Andrew Loomis (you can’t go wrong with Andrew Loomis)Proko’s Videos (obviously not a book, but his videos are interesting and the explanations are easy to understand)To conclude, I have one last piece of advice: don’t try to learn everything at once. Set yourself “small” goals, one at the time. For exemple : “this week, I’m focusing on the muscles of the arm.” “This week, I’m doing the upper back”. It can be a bit tedious at first, but you have to go through this. It’s worth it, and it can even be fun, don’t worry ^^ Good luck, and I hope you have fun drawing ♥
