Hello everyone, it's been brought to my attention that a post I made on this blog back in 2012 contained completely unacceptable language.

I can't even begin to describe my shock and disappointment in myself when I saw the post, I don't remember being the type of person who would throw out a word like that. I have no idea what I was thinking but the only thing I can do is deeply apologize and take full responsibility for the damage I have caused. I've disappointed myself as well as let down my friends and community who supported me. I am sorry.

I have removed the post containing the language to avoid it hurting anyone new, but it is important to me that this issue does not get swept aside without me addressing it.

Who’s excited?! Here are our Official Beta Launch Dates!!

There’s been some confusion about whether or not you can play even if you don’t have a beta invite key, and we’d like confirm that you can!

Above are the launch dates for headstart key holders, standard beta key holders, and the general public! If you don’t have a key, you’ll be able to register only during the sign up windows which are open for a limited amount of time.

We’ll be announcing more open sign up windows around mid March!

Please anticipate possible lag or server outage during our initial launch times! If the site is down for an extended period of time during an open sign up window, we’ll be extending the window or re-opening it once the site is stable again.

We’ll see you in Beta! Help us spread this news far and wide by reblogging if you can! :)

Introducing our three themes for the upcoming Kickstarter! These themes will dictate what the reward sets will look like. There will be pet food, totems, avatar clothing, and pets up for grabs!

We’ll be posting a comprehensive list of our KS tiers and prices once we finalize it. The set names are as follows: Golden Aquarium, Jeweled Unicorn, and Obsidian Dragon. Hope everyone is doing well! DAPPERVOLK - HIRING!

Hey guys! We’re getting closer and closer to our goal for alpha testing, however we’ve hit a few snags recently. As such, we are currently looking to hire a few different positions to get the site ready for alpha and beyond. Feel free to email us at coqulent@gmail.com with your applications or any questions you have about the positions. Alternatively if you know anyone with the skill sets we’re looking for, please send them our way!

Front End Coder/Developer

We need experienced front end web developers who can code in css and javascript (jQuery), as we’d like to get the rest of the front end coding done asap. We may hire multiple coders as needed.

  • A consistent and precise sense for fonts, spacing, and overall web design is essential.
  • An up to date skillset for css and jQuery javascript is needed as well.
  • Familiarity with laravel, git & gulp is a bonus but not required.
  • PSD mockups are available for the more complex pages.
  • A zip file with all pages coded so far is available for css style matching.
  • We have about 14 pages needing to be coded for the front end so I’ll be dividing them up between coders, so this is basically a short term coding job.
  • Please apply if you’re up for coding something quickly with a short deadline (a few weeks for some pages)!
  • There is also a possibility for more long term front end coding work later on for additional pages and site tweaks.

Writer

We’re looking for a writer who matches Dappervolk’s writing style to help us build the lore and write out quest dialogue.

  • This is a world building and writing position with the most concrete work being quest dialogue and some flavor text/lore.
  • We’d like someone willing to delve into the world of Dappervolk with us and brainstorm things, as well as be able to write different characters with economical phrasing.
  • The quests are split into 3 different kinds of dialogue (NPC’s, player’s, and narration) and are split into short sentences to fit into the speech bubbles. There are many quest lines and possible conversations that must be mapped and written out.
  • It might be difficult to pick an applicant solely from samples of your work so I may ask to have a text based chat with you if I’m interested.
  • Rather than only requiring an extensive portfolio for this, I really do need someone I can mesh well with since there will be a lot of back and forth for this work.
  • This position would be a long term one later on after the site opens if things go well!
