Excerpt: “We have to go, Thals,” she said, sliding off her barstool. There was an anger in her stormy gray eyes that made her look equal parts attractive and terrifying as she glared at Piper. “The bar’s been overrun by pretentious artistes.” The last word was said with an exaggerated accent on the word, making Annabeth sound like a bad parody of a Parisian artist. The quarter of French blood in Piper boiled beneath her skin.
Piper huffed, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. “I don’t need a sell-out like you, anyway,” she snapped. If she was sober, she would have been embarrassed by her own words, or otherwise startled by her quick temper. As it was, she was clenching her fists by her sides as her face turned brilliantly red.

With a Blow of the Wind (The Pirate and the Princess)
A/N: So this is the first part of my @pjofemslashminibang fic. I hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed writing it!
Chapter 1
Reyna took a sip of her ale. It was bitter than the rum she usually drank aboard her ship. In front of her sat Percy, her quartermaster. They were in a tavern in the port of Vernubés, passing the time after having charged the ship with fresh supplies. They planned to stay the night on port and then sail early in the morning to avoid attracting the wrong kind of attention.
“Where are we going next, cap’n?” Percy asked. He passed his finger through the edge of his glass.
“I’m thinking of staying around these parts. I saw many merchant ships in port. It comes down to what the crew wants either way.”
“I saw them, too. They should raise sail in a few day’s time.”
Suddenly, from the back of the room, they heard shouts. Reyna turned around to see five men standing around something or someone, jeering. A feminine voice spoke up from the noise. “Leave me alone!” The shout was followed by one of the men doubling over and the owner of the voice trying to get past the barrier of men. The voice belonged to a brown skinned girl with brown hair braided in a fish tail. She wore breeches that bagged under a ragged and dirty pink dress.
The girl couldn’t get past them; one of the men dragged her back in the circle. “You thought you could get away, bitch?”
Nobody around the tavern seemed to care about the girl or the men. Everybody kept talking in hushed tones, ignoring the cries for help of the girl. Reyna stood up and took out her gun. She headed straight towards the circle of men. Percy followed her. She was glad he didn’t try to stop her because she might’ve punched him for suggesting her to sit back and do nothing.
“Beat them to a pulp, cap’n. I got your back if something happens.”
Reyna kept from cracking a smile. Instead, she put her best glare on. “Hey, scumbags, leave the girl alone.”
The men turned to look at her, sneers plastered on their faces. “Why should we listen to you?”
Reyna moved fast, shooting one of them in the foot. “Because that will happen.” She pointed the gun at another man. “Now, let the girl go or this one will go in the head.”
Around them, people stopped talking, waiting for the men to decide. A few made quick bets on what the outcome of the encounter would be. Percy dealt a few crowns, already knowing how it’d end up.
The men parted ways, hands in the air, letting in sight the girl. After making sure none of the men remained in the tavern, Reyna put her gun back in its shelf by her hip. She took a few steps forward, getting closer to the girl. “You alright?”

Check-in Instructions
Hey guys, happy pride! I felt kinda weird about putting "instructions" in the title, because all I'm really going to be doing is talking with everyone individually and making sure everything is going smoothly.
For this check-in, writers don't have to have any specific word count to have met, and artists don't need to send me any WIPS or screenshots. Though, if you have a link to a doc with your outline or what you've written so far, it would be great if you could have it ready to share. In general, everyone should have a plan for what they're going to do ready for me when I come talk to you.
I'll be using whatever you marked as your preferred method of communication, messenger||email etc, and I'll give you three days to get back to me before I try again. I probably won't start messaging consistently until 4:30PM PST, so stay patient until then and LMK if you have questions!
