‘Their doctors saw her fallopian tubes had been modified so that she would be compatible to sire a Gold child. Then they disposed of her. Says so right in the records: ‘disposed.’ Gassed her with achlys-9, put her in an oven, pumped her ash into the sea. They didn’t even give her a name, just a number. Not because she was a thief or a murderer or had violated any man’s or woman’s rights, but because she was a Red who dared love a Gold. My selfish love killed her.

“Her name? Why does it matter?” he asks warily.

“Because I want to remember her.”

“Bryn,” Sevro says from above. “My mother’s name was Bryn. She was twenty-two when they killed her.” Only a year older than I am now.’

Don’t forget that in the Sons of Ares comic (SPOILERS), the Board of Quality Control took Sevro as well, and when Fitchner came to rescue them, she chose to stay behind and sacrifice herself so that Fitchner would escape with Baby Sevro.

The only Royal Wedding I care about is the Sovereign and the ArchImperator’s.

Don’t lie, 90% of the Solar Republic went slagging nuts for these two. An Aureate Sovereign marrying the Red leader of the Rising. The peak of the pyramid and the bottom.

Even 800 years from now, masses are suckers for such stories.
