public transportation is great and i think we (usamericans especially but tbh society in general) would benefit greatly from more options for that. but people on this website have got to stop talking like walkable cities and high speed rail will solve everyone’s problems which trust me it will not.
no popular catchphrase on this website will ever be more baffling to me than we have to eliminate cars from society. i know half of you don’t have licenses and your touchstone for people with cars are morons in f150s too wide for their lanes but think about that for a minute. how would that work like actually. i think maybe we should get rid of cars in downtown areas where public transport is available but how the hell do you get anywhere in rural areas. ‘oh they could move closer to cities’ listen to yourself. and this is before even getting into the issues involving accessibility in urban areas. not everyone can walk to a fucking train station. i just feel like i have never seen people more out of touch with reality than people who live in downtown areas near a subway stop lol.
