So yeah, here’s the thing.

The season five finale of B.lackl.ist N U K E D my Red muse from orbit. Like, the destruction of Alderaan-level nuked. I’m not sure when–or if–he’s coming back. It actually sent me into a depression for a while because I adore everyone I’m met through this blog, and all the fun we’ve had, but this blog is on an indefinite HIATUS

FOR THE MEANWHILE I will be over here:

I JUST made the blog, so please go follow me there! I’m gonna try to be active there, but if not, I’m always up for RPing in Discor.d! DM me for my handle <3

They’d searched him the moment they had captured him — taken his coat, the sweater he was wearing, his hat, his phone, his weapons. Pat him down for good measure, then hauled him away. He hadn’t gone down without a fight, and certainly made it difficult the entire way in. It took several agents to physically shove him into the back of a car, and several more to escort him once they were inside… well, wherever this was. A black site of some sort, something off the books. That in of itself didn’t bode well.

Then they’d put him in the cage.

The cube wasn’t very large at all, barely furnished, and stood strong against whatever he did to try and break out of it. Aiden spent a good hour slamming his fists against the surface and screaming himself hoarse, pacing the tiny space like a caged animal. Even after finally calming down and sitting on the cot, he remained visibly agitated, glaring daggers into the opposite wall as if he could convince it to open through sheer force of will.

He hears the elevator moving, his head lifting to turn and stare at it. A part of him expects Ressler, here to rub it in his face about catching him. The man that emerges from the doors, however, isn’t an agent at all. The suit is what gives him away, far too expensive and fancy for someone who worked with the FBI. His eyes narrow, and he goes still where he sits.

“———Who the fuck are you?

Red had, through his various and innumerable channels, found out that the man he’d been courting to potentially be one of his go-to hackers was now in custody by the hands of none other than his favorite FBI agent, Ressler. Well, this just wouldn’t do, this had to be rectified, and quickly.

Though, when he got there and found a screaming, frenzied animal, Reddington simply sat in the big room with all the cameras and watched him yell himself and beat himself into some sort of resigned fate. Even from this far away, he could tell the man still had a lot of fight left in him. Good, just how he liked. Maybe he’d had a smoothie while watching, waiting, for the man to calm enough that Red wouldn’t have to talk over him.

He didn’t answer the question, didn’t need to, “The glass was developed by DARPA for secure cover and housing in combat zones, your fists stand as much shot of doing damage to this wall as a housefly does of going through a solid wood door.” The man didn’t so much as cross the room, as it looked like the room--and the cell--came to him, and he stood, a few inches from the front, tight-lipped smile contorting his face.

  • This one was definitely intriguing, he'd have to do more research. “Have you calmed down enough to carry on a civilized conversation, or would you like to try to break any more of the bones in your hand? I'll perhaps be reminding you of the fact that I am most definitely your ONLY path to ever seeing the outside of this cube again.”

Ohhhhhhhh my goddd. I was LITERALLY just told  “as hard as it is to accept cops stop and arrest blacks because they disproportionately committed crime.”

while arguing that the police force was built on racism and still has TONS of racist coding in it’s enforcement.

And this woman(older, cis, white, of course) had the AUDACITY to say “ that’s not what I said. I said that they are stopped and arrested more because they committed a disproportionate amount of the crime. You have to read better and not be so judgy. “ when I called her out on saying like, literally the CATCHPHRASE of racial profiling.

OH GOD AND AS I WAS TYPING THIS SHE SAID REVERSE RACISM WAS A THING. I CANNOT EVEN. HOLY SHIT.  images behind read more

Black men, while being only about 6% of the US population, commit over 50% of the homicides, 47% of all violent crime and 38% of all crime. That’s a disproportionate rate when compared to their population.

Racism against white people isn’t reverse anything, it’s just racism. The reverse language was added as a racism attempt to try and diminish the act of racism against white people.

you can’t be racist against white people, you absolute doorknob.

Racism requires the person being racist to have systemic power over the race they’re denigrating. White people are on top due to the systemic racism that’s been part of this country since 1620. They can punch people on lower steps. If someone of color is being discriminatory to a white person, it is discrimination, it cannot--and can NEVER BE--racism, because white people possess systemic power that black people do not.  I’m not even going to get INTO those statistics, which people are often forced into because of things like gentrification and systemic, institutionalized racism that keeps people of color from getting the same opportunities as their white counterparts.

Right — so don’t piss her off and come back with whatever I’m grabbing. You got a drop off point to give me, or does she have that information too?  It’s convoluted, this entire set up. Anyone else he’s ever been contracted to work with, they got straight to the point. Grab person A, drop them off at point B, pick up your payment at point C. No wonder he was never able to dig up anything on Red before this — left hand doesn’t know what the right one’s got, keeps everything decentralized.

“Mm, right,” it had been explained already, wasn’t there some lock this guy should be hacking to get in? “When you’ve both successfully left the building, call me and I’ll give you an address.” There were variables, and since this was the first time Red had worked with him, he wasn’t going to show too much of his hand before he’d gotten what he needed. “Can’t get too ahead of ourselves, can we?”

He exhales — that isn’t exactly comforting, but he’ll take it.  Well — I can work with that. As long as she can pull her weight.  He’d prefer to know a little more about the woman he’s going to be working with, but. Well, maybe Clara can pull something up on her. Now if only Red wouldn’t sound so amused by the idea of someone shooting him.
Image

Aiden’s response sets Red up perfectly for a genuine deep chuckle. “Oh, I’m sure she can pull both her own and your weight, should the need arise.” If he’d been having this conversation in public, he might’ve winked. Ms. Romanoff was probably one of the most skilled contacts he had, and he appreciated that she’d still work with him, considering. “Don’t worry, I’m confident that she knows you’re coming, she shouldn’t shoot you--but I can’t guarantee anything, I don’t control her beyond the scope of her contract.”

I’m not sure you can call it hiring when the alternative is jail tail.  You know what? He’d almost rather be working with Damien again. Fucking Red. Fucking FBI.  And the woman — she can be trusted?
Image

“Oh, well, I didn’t realize that compensation negates being considered ‘hired’.” It wasn’t like Red wasn’t going to pay him. What sort of rude creature did this hacker think he was? “I think you’ll find in working with me, I refuse to work with those who can’t be trusted. She can, but she might shoot first.” He wasn’t going to chuckle out loud, but the mirth was audible.
