does anyone else feel like….idk how to explain it….like completely disconnected from life around them? constantly going “these are my friends” and “this is my home” and “this is my life” and “this is my body” to remind yourself that you’re not just some timeless floating essence and even those mantras are completely useless and you almost never come down from it and you’re feeling like….everything is real but also completely fake at the same time

I know you THINK you love it, but if nobody ever told you to or gave you that first idea to start changing yourself to be sexy and consumable…… would you be? If patriarchal standards didn’t exist, would you actually find pleasure in spending extra time and money on altering your appearance to achieve Eurocentric and heterosexist beauty standards? Are you GENUINELY happy with putting on makeup and a push-up bra and shaving and waxing or are you happy with the way other people treat you when you do it?
