I don’t know about any of y’all, but I would so much rather my tax money go to actually rehabilitating people and finding ways to keep them out of incarceration, rather than an entire industry set up around getting people to recidivate and return to prison time and time again, just so that prison industrial complex can pocket even MORE of my tax money.

for any wondering how this affects you the not yet in prison population, slave labor takes jobs out of the economy and depresses all labors value. in real terms they are picking your pocket.

how it shows off the romance of Vaggie wanting, more than anything-

to be a family with the woman she loves

she reprises the song that brought one half of Charlie's estranged parents back into Charlie's life (reached out to earnestly for the first time in years, at Vaggie's urging, with Vaggie there to hold Charlie's hand through the call)

and it hits so HARD, her being there when no one else was, telling Charlie it saved her- Charlie saved her

that other reprise of what Charlie tried saying on the rooftop ("You didn't fail me-" "You do so much") echoed back turning into "You've already done so much..." "And in the end, if it's only me you've saved..."

how it answers the unsaid part of Charlie standing outside Angel Dust's door after she lead the charge in heaven and all her plans of getting him redeemed crashed and burned- the part Vaggie did say out loud on the rooftop, when she took charge and everything that day went sideways

(both of them trying to balance the other out and failing and then still being there to muddle through the fallout)

the way they're two sides of the same person in some ways, breaking themselves over not being enough, not protecting enough, not doing enough, and then... putting each other back together.

(putting themselves back together, bit by bit, even in the rare moments when they're apart- so that they can do the same for the woman they love)

It's something worse than attraction or fate. It's more than anything, but not because Charlie happened to be born and Lucifer was her dad and that tied them together before either of them understood each other at all-

(that comes later. after Vaggie comes into Charlie's life) (after Charlie stops just dreaming of what she wants and wants to be and gets to start living it)

now it's more than anything and it's the hotel that Vaggie needs just as much as Charlie does. It's nothing between them except what they've BUILT together. It's something nothing that happens next can take away.

It's.... family. Two women who want to be in this together. Who are enough just as that, just like they were for years before all this.

The queer community hates masculinity. It treats it as the enemy and ties queerness to femininity. And there are some problems with this.

1. It completely ignores transneutral and other people who aren’t feminine or masculine.

2. Or they do acknowledge it and try to argue that because it’s not masculinity, it really is tied to femininity. It’s created a binary, if your not masculine your feminine and if your not feminine your masculine.

3. It forces a lot of people to be feminine in an attempt to redeem themselves. For a long time we refused to accept that we were a transman because we felt we would betray women. We believed that men = bad and if you are a man you have to work really hard to redeem yourself because you’re an inherently bad person.

4. Anti masculinity doesn’t just affect queer men. It effects masculinity non binary people to. So often I see people say “women and non binary’s” or treat non binary people are womenlite. Transmasc non binary’s are so often overlooked, because people don’t believe that’s how being non binary works.

5. It hurts masculine women too. I’ve seen people get so upset when butches or futches use the term boy for themselves. “You’re allowed to be masculine but not that masculine.”

6. It makes it to where multigender people who are partially male are somehow infected with the dirty boy disease. I saw someone claim that bigender peoples manness erases their womanness.

7. It’s created this weird binary as I pointed out in point 2. Men vs Non Men. This hurts anyone who falls outside the binary.

8. It hurts transmen. We’re treated as evil and we aren’t oppressed, our identity turns us into the oppressors in their eyes. Transmen aren’t the problem, (trans)misogynists are.

9. It pushes masculine queer men out of the community. We do not feel accepted or loved in our own community.

And other ways I’m too tired to think of. Some peoples queerness is tied to masculinity, and that’s beautiful. Masc people aren’t your enemy, and we should be allowed to exist in queer spaces without feeling shitty.
