I don’t normally engage in fandom discourse. Antis will never see the harm they’re doing to others, so sorry, but we tried.

We tried to tell you, but you won’t listen. Anyway, enough of that. It’s dumb. It’s tiring. But you know what? Thanks to the anti I kept responding to, I will now ship kaeluc to spite them <3

I will write fanfics, I will write headcannons, I will make more and more content just to blend out the hate coming from @alchemania and their brainwashed cultists.

So thank you for introducing me to a new ship! I Love you!

The fact that "kae//luc is a problematic ship" is somehow a controversial statement in this fandom gives me many emotions, happiness being none of them. I have never seen so many people invalidating adopted and stepsiblings to justify a pairing in my life and to say that I'm bewildered would be an understatement. It actually boggles my mind.

Said it before and I'll say it again, adopted siblings are still siblings, step-siblings are still siblings. They're still family. Good lord. . .

Kae//luc shippers/defenders don't interact with this post, I am not interested in hearing ANYTHING you may have to say on this matter. If this post makes you mad, block me or the anti tag; I don't really care if I'm stepping on any toes here.

I can’t even begin to say how ignorant, homophobic and sinophobic this post is. I don’t even ship kaeluc, but I’m tired of this

First of all the characters don’t exist and no real person is harmed. Shipping is a hobby that has existed ever since manga exists as a medium and there have always been “problematic” things that were portrayed in anime/manga and it never led to the normalization of anything.

Shipping is “I want to see two or more characters because I like their dynamic.” That’s it. There’s nothing more behind it.

How come you scream about kaeluc “normalizing” incest, but a manga from 1984 with actual fictional incest did not? Game of thrones didn’t, but kaeluc did? Super lovers, Yosuga no Sora, Citrus, these titles, but none of it ever normalized incest and yet kaeluc did?

Just admit that you dislike the ship and it’s valid to dislike it. But if you didn’t know, Chinese speakers have explained multiple times that they’re “sworn brothers”.

Even in English, Diluc states that Kaeya is not his brother, they are like siblings, which would rule out incest altogether. I could call my best friend like a sibling and date them and it wouldn’t be incest because we only grew up together but they were never adopted - so basically childhood friends to lovers.

Did you know that Chinese media censors gay couples and makes them family or straight? Each country has its own ways of censoring queer voices or queer characters, and each country has its own ways of slipping them through the cracks to make queer people know that THEY ARE being seen and that they are not alone, which is what sworn brotherhood is at this point.

Pretending like everything must follow a western standard is not just ignorant and flat out bigotry but also implying that the struggle other queer communities in other countries face do not matter if they do not follow your standards.

It is a privilege you and other people take for granted.

Mihoyo knew exactly what they were doing when they decided to go with this trope, they are not stupid, they are otakus. They know how mainstream media works in China and they know what is going to get people shipping.

Then how come Childe being a teenager was corrected into young man, but not Diluc’s and Kaeya’s relationship?

Well think about it, would Genshin exist if the creators ignored Chinese censorship when it comes to LGBT representation? It would NOT.

So my final thoughts to this, you don’t have to like or ship kaeluc, but it isn’t incest.

You have to understand that there is no black and white and there is no wrong or right.

At least TRY to understand that queer culture can be different in other countries instead of slapping a label on them and ignoring what they have to say just because it doesn’t fit your view on things.
