thinking about the mr steal your girl line and how clearly in the song it applies to both ratty and yb (ratty from yb and yb from tom/calvin) but also thinking about it in comparison to travis and why this is the healthiest relationship she's had. travis didn't have to "steal" her from her past relationship. no connection while she's still living that taken life and while there's only a few months in between, she's single and really getting started into the healing process before he came.

Seeing public reaction to the album I think it actually is working like the one thing Miss Americana definitely did really well, which was allow people to see the world from her perspective and feel empathy for her again. Especially needed after a year where all the messaging has been that her level of fame and success is unrelatable and because she is billionaire people aren't obligated to treat her as a human. The messiness and unfiltered nature of the album was necessary for that to work. And at the same time it was a wake up call for the fans who treat her as their favorite toy. She started fighting for her right to her humanity with Midnights, but this is another level.

That's unfortunately the type for people who are going through it. Basically everyone who likes him needs help and Taylor was a great example of it.

Okay so when I first heard the Charlie Puth line, I thought it meant that Charlie should be a bigger artist THAN both of them not that he should be a bigger artist, period. And I feel as though the first interpretation is more in line with the self-aware track that TTPD is. We’re not Dylan Thomas or Patti Smith, we simply aren’t that good so maybe Charlie puth should be bigger than us both.

Yeah it’s also a dig at Matty in a way. Because she knew how to troll him, clearly. It kind of lays out this whole storyline for us.

My mind keeps going back to how we found out about Taylor and Matty dating. It came from the Sun, so he was very loose lipped and people knew about it before and he was telling people things in the background. I think, though she was buying his nonsense, he was in pushing the narrative to stop her from having a moment to hesitate. He tried it a second time when the Sun they were back together. I think he got shut down and wanted to derail anything she might have had going again.
