The other day I was thinking about that show ReBoot (the first fully 3D rendered show on television) and how adorable and cutesy the first season was, with this happy go lucky world set inside a computer …
And then WHAM! During the second season it went post apocalyptic as fuck! The characters came back in the third seasons all grown up and fucked up … and really hot. Like the little kid Enzo came back as this buff adult guy who was in a “romantic relationship” with the cute little girl he’d been best friends with.
Oh, and they looked like this:
As a kid watching this show it was one of the coolest things even. Seriously. To see a show come back in a new series with the characters grown up, post apocalyptic, super badass and really kickass was awesome. Also, I totally ship the Ray Tracer and Mouse. And Enzo and AndrAIa (who is the sexy lady above!).
Anyway, that was my walk down memory lane.
ReBoot was the best!
Seriously, years later and i still love it. Love the characters, the plot, music, (believe it or not) graphics. Also the villains - Hexadecimal was amazing, and the conclusion of her plot was great.
I still say “What’s your alpha-decimal?” which was their phrase for “what’s your problem?”, but no one understands my reference. I freaking loved that show.

My Mum.
So after we went to see Civil War (me for the second time, Mum for the first), her summation was this:
Mum: “Well, I’m glad Tony’s gone. I never liked him any way. He deserved it.” Me: “...Wow, harsh Mum. You know it’s you against the internet on that one, because nearly everyone is on Tony’s side in this movie.” Mum: “I don’t care. I never liked him.”
Have to admit, that’s true. She never DID like Tony. She got a little less hate-y towards him in The Avengers, but he lost her again in IM2, despite the fact that I did point out his behaviour in that movie is DIRECTLY RELATED to the fact that he’s dying. So, it’s Mum against the internet.
Then there was this little gem:
Mum: Well, I’m glad they gave Steve a love interest finally. Me: *snort* Right. Mum: Well, I am! Me: *probably loud enough for half the theatre to hear and with dramatic hand-gesture towards the screen which is rolling credits* Excuse me! Actually! He has HAD a love interest all the way through, it’s just that it’s Tony and no one mentions it. Mum: ... My Friend Who Had Come With Us: *trying not to laugh*
So I won that one. She couldn’t think of answer. XD
ETA: I feel I need to add a disclaimer like they put on DVD extras with interviews “The opinions expressed herein do not necessarily reflect my own.” My Mum’s thoughts aren’t mine!

This is my gift for it-just-slipped-out as a part of the 2015 WinterIron Holiday Exchange! I based it on two of the prompts I was given and had so much fun! Comic book style colouring is tricky but also gorgeous, so it was well worth it.
THEN — because I got a little overexcited — I also started writing a GIGANTIC fic that I figured could function as a bonus. Really though, it’s a monster. This particular scene is from chapter six and the fic is called Autonomy.

those ao3 “kudos” emails where someone has gone through and read pretty much all of your stories, one after the other: blessings upon you and your household
don’t authors find that weird though? i don’t do that, just because i always figured it might seem stalkery, going story by story through people’s older work (which of course i do ~all the time~ because awesome fic is addictive) if people are happy to have the kudos, i will totally start leaving them as i read
I mean, I can only speak for myself here, but no, I don’t find it creepy. Someone I’ve never met going through my old instagram selfies and systematically liking them - creepy. Someone I’ve never met obsessively reading my old fics and liking them - my favorite person of the day. Just MHO.
seeing the same person’s name on a string of kudos for your fics because they’ve obviously read through your back catalogue is one of life’s great joys
xcziel, there’s nothing I like more as a writer than someone who is obviously reading everything.
Well, maybe comments. Yes, on old fic too.
I once (back on lj) had someone comment on every single chapter of a fic I wrote in one evening. It was the most thrilling night of my fanfic career. I didn’t feel creepy in the least.
COMMENT. I don’t care how old it is or how many chapters a reader comments on.
The only thing that might possibly be more flattering is the “I stayed up all night because I couldn’t stop reading” comment.

Reblogging because readers somehow still have this idea that too many comments/kudos are seen as creepy or stalkery. IT’S NOT. Seriously. Every comment, all of the kudos, they’re greatly, GREATLY appreciated. And knowing that someone liked your work enough to click on your name and go through your other fics and liked those too, even the old stuff you’re kind of self-conscious about, is the greatest feeling a writer can have. So if you like a fic, say something/leave kudos, no matter if it’s the first or fifth fanfic you’ve read in one night from that author.
I LOVE when I get an email where it’s the same name, like a dozen or more times because they went through and read like, /everything I ever wrote/ apparently. It makes me so happy! :D

Like clockwork, Natasha brought Steven a tray of food twice a day. First, when the sun had been rising for some time and second, once the sun had already set. Breakfast and dinner. Steven wasn’t used to eating a lot, so the two meals more than sufficed to hold him over each day. He wasn’t simple enough to ignore the trays when Natasha set them down and left. It would do him no good to starve himself. It would only serve to make his confinement harder.
