We’ve been thinking about this for a while, and finally, here it comes… Ladies and gentlemen, I’m very happy to announce the very first RukiHime BR/OTP week – an event for everyone who loves Rukia and Orihime together, whether as a couple or friends!
Our celebration of the bond between the girls will take place in the 1st week of October – starting on October 1st and finishing on October 7th.

General rules:
1. Each day of the event will have a prompt meant to inspire you in one way or another. We’ll also provide some descriptions to help you find an idea that you’d like to transform into a post!
2. The posts for each prompt are meant to be published on the day of the prompt, but don’t worry if you don’t make it in time – it’s okay to publish them later on during the event. And even after the RH BR/OTP week ends, we may still track the main tags for some time.
3. All kinds of posts are welcomed – fan arts, edits, aesthetics/moodboards, fanfictions, headcanons, meta/analyses, cosplay, handcraft, etc.
Tags:
1. Please tag your entries with rukihimebrotpweek or rukihimeweek. We’ll be tracking both!
2. While reblogging the entries here, we’ll be using the nsfw tag if needed. Bloody scenes will be tagged with injury.
3. It would be hard to precisely separate the platonic and romantic content, especially since female friendships are often full of affectionate gestures, so we’ll be using the tag romanticrukihime only for explicitly romantic content like kissing, getting married, pictures with romantic descriptions, etc.
Restrictions:
1. No plagiarism – stealing will not be tolerated. It’s ok to use stock photos, famous paintings/movie scenes, etc. as references for your works, but it’s not fair to use or edit the pictures of other fans (unless you have their permission).
2. No bashing of anything/anyone. We’re asking everyone to remain positive and focused on what we do love, not on what we don’t. Please be kind!
3. No pairings other than RukiHime. This event is meant to be enjoyed by anyone who loves Rukia and Orihime together, no matter what other N/OTPs they have. So if you want to make some platonic RukiHime, be sure to not include any specific ships. You can, however, allude to the girls having spouses/kids, just without making known who these spouses/the fathers are. This also means no OT3s/OT4s, etc.
It’s our first time doing a fandom event like this, but we’re hoping that everyone will have a great time. The prompts will follow shortly, so stay tuned! :)

But on a serious note, art isn’t something free from criticism and folks are allowed to voice opinions on the content. That goes for any works. I don’t understand this ‘positive opinions only’ mentality fandoms have.
It goes both ways. They are allowed to draw that and it’s all fiction. I will say this though, people thought I was twisting quotes when making BrOTP graphics in the blog? Okay then. xD
its seriously sad how they organize a month to celebrate IR specifically and they still turn it into anti IH. their ship isnt enough, unless they’re taking pot shots at the canon couples they’re not satisfied. i’m happy to say IH week was full of lovely, 100% positive material and nothing anti except bitter IR fans that took it upon themselves to tag hate under the IH week tag.

this doesn’t really have anything to do w this fanart but are you aware that IHweek was only created out of spite for IRmonth? someons only proposed it after another IH bitched about IRmonth in their blog. at least get your facts straight about your “100% positive!!1!” ship week.

yeah because its not like we had IH month in august last year, right? its not like we just logically shortened it to a week instead of a month because our fandom is small and if you look at the IH month blog there werent many posts, we totally made IH week in august just out of spite. you have no proof it wasnt an IR who did it. not having a ship on your blog doesnt mean you dont ship it, i have a fuckton of ships i dont post about.

So @yashirosukes @failberry @nootherrelationshiplikethem @flippinbananas and whoever the fuck else wanted to step up on their usual make-believe high-ground and spit wisdom on my ‘morally-deficient’ IR fandom can get escorted off their pedestal howsoever they please.
i.e.
Your brain capacity to common sense ratio must be off like a mother fucker if you think a drawing is ethically damning, but shitting on an artist who properly tagged her work, causing drama in her notifications, and pissing off the friends who defend her is fine because ‘criticism.’
“This is sick,” “disgusting,” and varieities of “you, your fandom, and your friends are bad people” are not so much ‘criticisms’ as they are ‘jackass remarks’.
Come on, now! I can tell enough from your shipping tastes that bland, one-dimensional, misguided, and uninteresting are kind of your things, but tasteful fictional multidimensionality (even if it may not be linearly positive or white-as-snow pure) is fucking fantastic. That’s why you like Bleach in the first place!
Your little, little “100% positive” fandom sure is big enough in its negativity to stir up a lot of unnecessary drama. If you cap off your righteous IH week by being little whiny bitches on an IR post, 100% positive is not something you can claim. (And we both know the rampent bitching your preference of shippers did all IR month long is not exactly positive).
Our ship is more than enough, puny one. That’s why we’re still here. The “Wedding Vows” prompt is connected to the guideline of “Canon Divergence.” (X) As in, take what already happened and further it how ever the fuck you wish to. Multiple characters deal with each other. Other characters have to do with the IR relationship. Other characters have to do with the IH relationship. This beautiful art is combining both simple concepts (though it flies over the heads of willfully ignorant IH fans) in an eye-catching way. The very fact that your eyes were caught makes the art and the idea behind it objectively good. That means that @dangerousbride fucking won.
Bleach deals with & often makes light of homicide, public execution, suicide, torture, rape, incest, misogyny, abuse, poverty, cannibalism, mental & psychological torment, dismemberment, government-endorsed genocide, slavery, force, manipulation, no care for consent, unwanted sexual advances, ‘my race of being is better than yours!’, etc.... but a picture of Rukia taking an Ichigo doll off a wedding cake (alluding to what you likely see as either cheating or death) is..too much?
Disney and Nickelodeon have done darker. Grow the fuck up.
