I was first called a faggot in kindergarten, before I even knew what being gay ment. the one kid with two dads was relentless bullied until fifth grade, and the teachers did nothing about it. when asked if girls could like other girls, several teachers responded that it was "too adult, and inappropriate", but were also okay with giving you the full on birds and the bees talk when asked.

if kids are old enough to be oppressed on the basis of their sexuality or gender, then they're old enough to learn about sexuality and gender.
