With this being the final night of Pride month I'd like to take the opportunity to respond to at least one of the asks regarding Gemanimate 4:

Currently, there is one person from the previous coordinator crew that could continue the Gemanimate series (me) and they would really love to!! Plans have been made - it's only a matter of setting them into action.

I'm entering my last year of college and have been extraordinarily busy so I've not had the time to give to Gemanimate. I apologize for that.

I intend to gauge interest for a fourth installment before making a final decision and if there's still a dedicated community interested in continuing Gemanimate - there will be a fourth!

As soon as I've cleared a bit of my schedule I'd like to scout for additional coordinators + mods so that a theoretical Gemanimate 4 could be produced as smoothly as possible without any hiatuses or miscommunications. Until then, feel free to continue sending asks.

And - if you're experienced with coordinating (zines, multi-animator projects, reanimates, etc.) - please get in touch or keep an eye out for future posts!

#gemanimate answers#theres a lot of work to be done behind the scenes in order to continue unfortunately#including addressing the previous DMCA takedowns we've been issued and finding a suitable way to host Gemanimate#these are things I have to work out before I'm able to make an interest check or find additional coordinators#but I truly would like to see the series continued

Gemanimate 3 is finally out, and the final result is absolutely lovely ! I’m very happy and grateful I could be part of the adventure again. :D

Here you’ll find visuals I used for my shot. At first I went full CGI, using fractals in Mandelbulb to make the soil and aiming for an intriguing and experimental look. Sadly, I got a fatal crash late during the process and lost all my work, only a few screenshots could be recovered. 

To meet the deadlines, I had to turn to 2D and After Effects, but still generated the textures in Substance Painter for the final visual. I also crafted a puppet Steven, but next time I might go for real paper craft, it carries a better feeling :) Still, I’m very happy with my shot considering the circonstances back then !

Finished this 2 years ago, but it’s finally time to share ~ my finished shot from @gemanimate 3 ~ the long awaited Steven Universe reanimate collab!

So much amazing work from so many talented animators 😤  I helped take over running this/getting it to the finish line after the project hit some bumps in the road. So it’s super exciting (and quite a relief!) to see it finally done!! 🥳

Gemanimate 3!

This was the last re-animate I participated in and it’s finally out! It’s the third Steven Universe re-animate project and the second one I got to participate in. It recreates a musical sequence from the episode “Reunited”. I used Kirby’s Dreamland 2 on the Gameboy as reference to animate it and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Unfortunately yes, Gem Animate 2 is no longer available on youtube for anyone (including us) due to a copyright takedown. It can still be viewed in its entirety on vimeo though! [ https://vimeo.com/227563486 ] Hope that helps ❤

Thanks for the interest! For now, we’ve chosen to focus on the current Gemanimate before making any further decisions. However, if there is a demand for one we’d certainly consider it!
