This is part of my ongoing Discworld jacket embroidery project. Of course Great A'Tuin has to be on there. And of course it has to be the biggest one of them all.
I'm going to put the finished product in my masterpost, but I'm so proud of the thing that I have to put it in an extra post beforehand. Enjoy!

Update 3: Why did I have to try single thread for the disc. Why. How did I ever think that was a good idea. This is taking aaaages.
I'd say never again, but I know myself too well...
Still trying to decide whether to outline the landmass with darker thread or not. It would make the lands more distinct - but it might also make it look more like a comic. If you have any thoughts on it, let me know. I'll only decide once I've finished the rest of the disc and that'll be at least a week, if I had to guess.
I finally had some time to continue and the disc is done! Now just some stars, planets, etc...
My estimate is that this took about 150 hours. About half of that went into the disc because I discovered single thread embroidery.
And because I always think it's really interesting to see the back of the embroidery - bonus:
On to the next one! Maybe I'll do the luggage now.

It's been awhile since I posted a headcanon, and I've had this one kicking around for a year or so. I was going to attempt a fic, but I'm not writing anymore; though I still want to share the idea 'cause I think it's hilarious.
***This headcanon is completely Gen/Crack btw.***
So the idea is that AR1 (John, Teyla, Rodney, Ronon) and SG1 (Daniel, Jack, Teal'c, Sam) swap bodies. Either team discovers some Ancient Tech in Pegasus, with a similar set up in Milky Way (or vice-versa), and to see what it does, it needs to be activated simultaneously by people with a strong ATA gene. Hence the need for Jack to be there. Everyone present ends up swapping places with the other team.
John Swaps with Daniel
- John is miserable and tries to hide in Daniel's office but Vala finds him and she can tell it’s not Daniel. So she drags him off to participate in some kind of crazy heist and she needs a getaway pilot.
- Daniel goes around touching everything in Atlantis like a kid in a candy store, and uses the opportunity to get petty revenge on Lorne for what happened on the Unas planet.
Teyla swaps with Jack
- Teyla uses Jack's authority to designate more resources to Pegasus cultures, and is able to resolve some long standing diplomatic tensions.
- Jack vanishes and uses the experience as some kind of break, he goes fishing and confuses the Athosians with his great cooking skills.
Rodney swaps with Teal’c
- Rodney scares the shit out of some Goa'uld or whatever enemy SG1 is fight at the time. 'Cause imagine "Teal'c" going off on a frustrated Rodney-like tangent over someone doing something idiotic, and having them cower in fear 🤣
- Teal'c confuses the hell out of the scientists, because "Rodney" is acting very quiet, calm, and is taking time out of his day to meditate.
Ronon swaps with Sam
- Ronon spends a lot of time in the gym sparring or working out −'cause lbr he's not in his body and he is probably very frustrated and needs to get that feeling out in a productive manner− ✨somehow✨ he encounters Pete and when Pete tries to win "Sam" back he gets punched in the face.
- Sam is fascinated by the experience and is in the lab with the other scientists trying to figure out the technology. The scientists wonder why "Ronon" is spending so much time in the labs, but don't question it 'cause "it's just another weird day in Pegasus"
I was thinking the whole thing lasts about 4 - 7 days before everything goes back to normal. Atlantis has the most calm relaxing productive time in ages, the SGC is on fire (metaphorically and depending on John and Vala's shenanigans maybe literally).

It's been a good while since we've seen the good Major. He comes back in this episode and of course there's very few good opportunities for a decent screen shot or two.

In Descent, Jonas Quinn risks his life to save SG-1 by swimming into a flooded section of the mothership and releasing the controls allowing our heroes access to the ship's landing bay. “Corin Nemec is able to hold his breath for over a minute-and-a-half, which surprised the hell out of all of us,” laughs producer Peter DeLuise, who also directed the episode. “I was holding my breath while watching him and I couldn't believe how long he was able to stay under the water.” Paul Mullie continues, “Peter shot this take that followed Corin all the way down the corridor. He swam into the room and started playing with these controls. Corin moved a bunch of discs around and then he swam around to the other side and did the same thing. It was one continuous shot and it lasted almost two minutes. We said, 'We have to use this shot. There is no way the audiences are going to believe that he did this unless we show an uninterrupted take. Unfortunately, one of the discs fell out of Corin's hand, so there's a moment in the episode where we had to cut away to do an insert. It's going to look like we tried to strech the scene out so that it would seem more heroic that his character stayed underwater for that long, but, in fact, Corin actually did.” (TV Zone Special #46)
