Headcanons for Elves with an S/O who has Depression

A/N: Long post ahead, be warned. 

Elrond

Elrond understands sadness and grief. He may not, however, fully understand what depression does to his S/O until they have a chance to fully explain it or until he sees it for the first time and cognitively makes the connection. He has a very innately clinical view of depression (blame it on being a healer) but he doesn’t exactly grasp it for what it is until he sees how it affects his S/O.

Once it hits him and he realizes, Elrond wants to be able to offer his S/O whatever he can to take the edge off the bad days. He knows the mind is difficult territory, and he’s more likely the type of elf to want to work with his S/O to find solutions that best work for them. He’s also going to be the one to lend his S/O a listening ear, no matter what he’s in the middle of. Council meeting with his Houses? Advisory meeting? If they need him, Elrond is already rerouting to go to them. He wants to make sure that his S/O knows that he’s there for them and that they’re being heard. And if he can’t immediately get away, then he’ll be sending one of his advisors to stay with his S/O until he can get there.

Elrond won’t like seeing his S/O in any kind of pain, but his background in healing knows that pain is sometimes necessary, no matter how much he hates it. Simply put, Elrond is a half comfort, half solution type of elf. He’ll help his S/O through the bad days, but he’ll also do his best to provide solutions if they come asking.

Bonus: Elrond doesn’t sing very often, but during the times his S/O can’t be consoled, he offers a song. It’s a quiet gentle lullaby but it can always put a mind at ease. It helps that he always tries to infuse it with healing power.

Armitage Hux relationship headcanons

I guess he is somewhat of a regular around here, I'm kinda surprised

He rants about his coworkers a lot in private, most of his complaints to you are about Kylo Ren. He'll usually just sit with a cup of tea and rage for about thirty minutes

He's never been in a serious relationship before so he's figuring out how to treat you properly. You're gonna have to correct him occasionally

He tries to be gentler with you, it's one of the things that made your relationship obvious to a lot of people

You're free to call him by his first name in private, he gets annoyed if you try it in front of others

If you go out to eat, he lets you have the entire dessert to yourself. He doesn't really have a sweet tooth and he'll just toss anything sugary your way

He doesn't normally leave whatever base or ship he's on often but he makes an effort to go out more with you. He's never experienced love before so he's trying to hang on to you by going out of his comfort zone

The Elves Halloween Vibes

Rivendell

Elrond

When it comes to the Halloween Vibes, Elrond is definitely far more into cozy and even cute Halloween themes. Elrond isn’t up for any gore or violence, nor vampires and ghouls, so horror isn’t high on his list of enjoyment for Halloween. But having been a parent to small elflings at one time, the cuter theme most certainly appeals to him and brings on fond memories. 

Elrond tends to lean more towards cuter decorations since it’s such a communal holiday, and makes him nostalgic for his elflings. He certainly likes to appeal to the other elflings of Rivendell and is most often putting together fun activities for the kids to delve in together. Elrond loves to see their smiles and how happy they are as they carve pumpkins or receive a sweet treat or two from the Master of Imladris. 

You’ll find that a lot of the activities that Elrond enjoys are once again communal- Putting on celebrations for the elflings, Halloween parties for everyone, fun activities like carving pumpkins for children or art stations to make “spooky” art things. Elrond also enjoys more domestic things shared with you- cozy warm drinks before the hearth, walking through the fall gardens, baking sweet treats, indulging in movies his kids would’ve enjoyed and the like. 

Elladan

Compared to his brother and father, Elladan is far more the Halloween Horror junky, as he loves a good adrenaline rush. So when it comes to his Halloween theme and vibe, Elladan is definitely down for good ole’ classic horror themes. Even with guts and gore. 

Elladan loves the scary decorations of ghosts and ghouls, scary clowns and haunted looking children decorations. Especially more zombified terrifying decorations. Despite all the horrors he’s seen, these are far more pretend and unrealistic and it is a good way for him to just enjoy having an adrenaline rush rather than actually fearing for his life. 

Elladan is all game for the fun and haunting Halloween activities that there are to do- Haunted Hay Rides, Haunted Houses, Ghost Hunting, participating in Haunted Houses, and watching scary movies until the crack of dawn. Elladan also has a really good knack and talent for telling scary stories, and if you are game to listen, he is game to tell.

Elrohir

Unlike his brother, Elrohir really really doesn’t like gorey and more outlandish horror to the Halloween season. Elrohir is definitely into a more moody, darkish aesthetic for Halloween. He likes the more vampire vibes enjoying how seductive and appealing the theme is. 

Elrohir is far more reserved and calm compared to his twin, and is almost described as moody in comparison. So a Halloween theme of Vampire certainly fits him perfectly. He likes the more gauze-y decorations, and lots of candles and cobwebs to fit that more undead immortal aesthetic.

Elrohir likes more fun but tame activities so haunted anything is really going to be off the table. Elrohir really likes strolls under the moonlight with his arm wrapped around your waist, good Halloween stories that aren’t too scary, Vampire Halloween movies, and reading some good Halloween themed books- of course in the Vampire aesthetic.

Arwen

With Arwen, despite all her bravery and her strong will, a scary Halloween really isn’t going to be something that she enjoys. She certainly prefers a more magical and fairytale like theme than anything that is frightening or intimidating. 

For her there is enough horrors in the world, one festival and celebration can be done without any terrors as far as she is concerned. Arwen loves more magical decorations, glass trinkets of pumpkins that you can light up, fall foliage as decorations, twinkling candle light, and other mystical looking decorations. She is completely content if they don’t follow more traditional colors for Halloween. 

Arwen loves as well more tame and relaxed activities. Halloween horrors like haunted houses and scary movies are off the table. She’s definitely into baking with intentions, strolls through chilly autumn weather, carving pumpkins, decorating, and watching more magical or cute family movies.

Erestor

Erestor really isn’t big on Halloween to begin with, but he is more in line with a Dark Academia vibe. He’s not big on communal celebrations to begin with, as he really prefers to be alone and really enjoys his space from other people. (Save you). 

You’ll find that he ends up with random decorations to at least try and look like he is in the Halloween spirit. Often times it is mostly just faceless pumpkins that decorate his personal home or the library. Along with some fall foliage to try and add some fall atmosphere to the space. Erestor really isn’t into horror and you’ll find that he will turn you down for anything of the sort. 

Erestor doesn’t really get into big fall or Halloween activities so you will find that he usually indulges through regular things in his daily activity. Though with you he will indulge in baking, simmer pots, strolls, and maybe carving a pumpkin. Though you will find his more partial into just reading together and being snuggled up in front of a warm hearth- in private of course.

Lindir

When it comes to Lindir and the kind of Halloween Vibe that he is going to have, don’t expect anything spooky or scary to be set up or enjoyed. If anything Lindir really prefers really toned down and more relaxed and even cute things for Halloween. 

Lindir really likes a more relaxed and easy going vibe for Halloween. He doesn’t like the idea that you would want to be scared on purpose. He’d much rather actually be able to enjoy Halloween then having the life scared from him all season long. 

He’s definitely into the more cute decorations, that are far from intimidating. Though he still loves the Halloween colors. He’s also definitely into sweeter Halloween themed things- baking, drinking ciders, watching cute Halloween movies, etc.

Glorfindel

Glorfindel has seen more than enough horror and scary things in several and many lifetimes to want to see anymore. So when it comes to Halloween, he is definitely into a more cozy vibe for Halloween, definitely not missing all the guts and gore that can come with Halloween. 

Glorfindel likes the more magical and mystical décor, with some of the cute decorations mingled in. He wants it to feel mostly like fall, sprinkled in with a few Halloween bits. He really just wants to be at ease and enjoy the celebration and festivities without getting his heart rate up too high. Though that doesn’t mean if you want to participate in scary things he wouldn’t mind joining you as your rock. 

For activities you’ll find that Glorfindel is surprisingly receptive to Ghost Hunting, but also he really enjoys baking, family friendly Halloween movies, strolling through cool autumn weather, regular not so haunted hay rides and most definitely cuddling up together before a fire. 

Bonus

Haldir

Haldir has a more natural, yet it can be a little obscure, Hallowee vibe that he has. Being outside all of the time and always a Marchwarden who is really busy, he celebrates and decorates in his own way. You’ll often find that he is making his own decorations, even if this isn’t his favorite Holiday. He finds that he has more of a duty to participate.

Though Haldir really likes that everyone comes together to celebrate. He really enjoys more communal based things, so really decorating and getting into the season isn’t his strong suit. Though that doesn’t mean he won’t try as he makes more nature based decorations to dress things up for Halloween. 

You’ll find that Haldir really likes to do more nature based things- Strolls outside, looking for things that could add to his decorations when he does decorate, maybe even raking up leaves for kids to play in, bringing pumpkins for those who want to decorate them. Some cozy things he would enjoy is picnic’s together in the cool fall weather, sharing in warm tasty drinks, and indulging in sweet treats.

Imagine being tightly wrapped in Haldir’s arms at all times you see each other. Just sitting in his lap, wrapped around him and your face buried in his neck and him holding you tight and returning the embrace, neither of you willing to let go given how often you were both separated due to your work and how likely you were both unlikely to come back every time you went out.

You breathe in his scent of Mallorn, and wet earth, and springs as you press tighter into his arms, happy you both made it home and actually managed to catch each other at the same time.

“I’m home. I’m safe. I love you.” You whisper, running your fingers over his arms. He presses a soft kiss to your forehead and pulls you closer. His eyes are soft and his eyes warm as he runs his hands over your shoulders.

“I know,” he says and hums a quiet song of healing for both your feä.

Damnit, I need more empathetic Theresa. Motherly Theresa. You can’t tell me she raised Sparrow without becoming attached to her niece/nephew. Please. I just want to see them as surrogate mother and daughter, it’s all I crave. It’s also because of how I personally see Theresa as a mother figure. She’s comforting to me, her voice is something familiar and calm from my childhood. I just need to see motherly Theresa. And little Sparrow… ugh, it hurts to see all the ‘evil’ Theresas out there. Like, she isn’t a good person, sure, but she has to feel. She has to care, even if she’s convinced herself that she doesn’t.
