tiktok is such an awful app, it's almost designed to feed you misinformation and expose you to insane discourse. unlike beloved tumblr, the app that feeds me misinformation and exposes me to insane discourse

No, no, no, you see on tiktok an algorithm feeds you misinformation. On Tumblr I feed myself misinformation from my charcuterie board of hand-selected unhinged mutuals.

None of that mass market junk. Only artisanal, small batch, sustainably cultivated, fair trade horseshit.

This House Has People in It, and Three of Them are Just Trying to Get Through the Day

The other tables were full, or at least the good ones were. All three of them hesitated at the end of the cafeteria line, dismayed at the lack of tables with green chairs—only the yellow ones remained. Everyone knew the Yellow Chair rule: the yellow-chair tables were for losers, and everyone at the Bureau knew it. Was this piece of office culture cultivated by the Oldest House itself, choosing who in its hallowed halls were worthy of primo lunch seats? Or was it merely a mundane bit of bored, office-worker-generated pettiness? No one knew. But no one was gonna fuck with it, not here of all places.

Ever since @kryptonitic and I watched @queenofbaws play Control, and now Alan Wake II, we've been talking about what we would do if we were just regular-ass employees trying to pay off our student loans at the Federal Bureau of Control. And now we're writing about it because why the fuck not!

I'm kicking the series off with the first part of the series: This House Has People in It, and Three of Them are Just Trying to Get Through the Day. The three of us will be adding to it periodically as the whim takes us. It's mostly nonsense and in-jokes but it should give anyone who knows the games a BIT of a laugh. Read it here on A03!

What happens when Malum gives into her incredible hubris and insists on putting 7 people in the Oldest House's emergency shelters, despite Queenie and Boneslaw's protests? Surely it wouldn't lead to anything bad, or terrible, or leave them exposed to whatever the fuck is happening outside!!!!!

"Mhm, that's right folks, thaaat's right, House shift on the way, so you know what that means..." Malum ushered another two, three, four of her coworkers into the black rock bunker, her voice authoritative and her smile perfectly confident, "...into the bunker you go, uh huh, uh huh...you know what, I think we got room for one...more! Perfect, stay safe, and we'll see you on the other side!"

Boneslaw hadn't said much while the scene unfolded, having wanted to see precisely what was happening before interjecting; "You know, when you said you wanted to cram seven people into one of those things, I was so sure you were talking about, y'know, us and four more people."

Malum's expression bordered on insult as she turned over her shoulder, waiting for the secure ka-chunk of the safe room's pneumatic seal before scoffing, "God no, I read the interdepartmental memos - I want to see what happens, not be a part of it."

"And, uh, did this plan of yours involve us finding a second bunker to duck into?" Queenie asked, struggling - as always - with the awkward straps of the amplifier hung over her chest. "Cuz I read those memos too, and let me tell you, I am not ready for a puppet that looks like me to show up as a cautionary tale in the next Threshold Kids episode..."
