I've been obsessed with the idea of Harry having a crush on Draco since the first year🥺🥺 (But of course, Harry doesn't know about this yet. For now, the little gentleman is just trying to impress Draco into becoming his friend💐✨)

At the end of 2nd year, Harry catches Malfoy's father tearing into Draco...and despite their differences he can't help but step in, knowing all too well what it is like to have family hate you just for not fitting the mold. He doesn't expect, however, the vulnerability from Draco and what it does to Harry's heart.

I've been thinking a lot about Draco and Harry's family situations; how both of them have convoluted relationships with lots of rejection/control (Dursleys specifically for Harry). Draco does have his mother who seems to love him pretty unconditionally, but I don't feel she would step in very openly if Lucius felt the need to punish Draco. I really feel that's where a lot of his bully energy came from - the need to impress/conform to his dad. So I wonder if Harry had seen through the cracks, evidence of Draco's true harsh environment, what would have happened! If I ever wrote fics I'd love to write one about this sort of thing!!
