Since Twitter seems to be burning to the ground.

Hello, I talk about combat sports here. Mostly MMA, Boxing, and kickboxing but it varies from week to week. Depends on what’s happening. If you like fighting, feel free to say hey.

Dan Tom is an MMA writer who’s opinion I respect, so I’m going to share his all time GOAT list for Brazilian fighters in the UFC. Presumably made to celebrate the UFC’s return to Rio.

I think these list serve better as historical markers and places to share context than some subjective ranking of accomplishment and skill. A good way to commemorate the sport we love and I think Tom does a good job of this.

Yoshiki Takei vs Bruno Tarimo | Former Kickboxer From Japan Making Waves In Boxing

Former K-1 super bantamweight champion Yoshiki Takei (8-0, 8 KOs) has quickly put together a sterling boxing record that has landed him a shot at a world title.

While I will forever be sad he didn't stick with kickboxing, Takei has landed himself on one of the biggest fight cards of the year. Takei will challenge for the WBO bantamweight title against champion Jason Moloney (27-2) this Monday (May 6), under the Inoue-Nery fight in the Tokyo Dome.

Losene Keita vs. Niko Samsonidse - OKTAGON 50

I always think to myself - I should talk more about OKTAGON but it's hard keeping up with everything. The promotion is doing big numbers over in Europe, attracting huge crowds. I think I read they've done shows with 50k+ people in attendance. Good stuff.

They're currently running a 16 man lightweight tournament. Their featherweight champion Losene Keita (12-1) is set to face off with Agy Sardari (17-4) in what should be a banger fight. The two will be fighting this Saturday (May 4) at OKTAGON 57 in Germany.

Jose Aldo vs Chad Mendes 1

In the UFC's infinite wisdom, UFC 301 was placed following a stacked 300 card that zapped a lot of their roster. Especially true because it sidelined the two biggest Brazilian fighters ahead of a return to Rio de Janeiro. So they hit the emergency button and brought the legend Jose Aldo (31-8) out of 'retirement.'

Originally wanting to face Dominick Cruz, Aldo was instead given a rising bantamweight in Jonathan Martinez (19-4) as an opponent in the co-main event of UFC 301 this Saturday (May 4).

Jack Shore - The Road To Rio - UFC 301

Jack Shore (17-1) is an incredibly skilled MMA fighter. He's well rounded and always seems to have a good gameplan heading into the cage. Skill wise, I think he's a top fighter at featherweight. There are intangibles though that you need to be a real top contender and I'm not sure he has those. We'll see as he works his way thru the 145lb division.

Shore is set to head to Rio this Saturday (May 4) for UFC 301 where the Welshman will face off with Joanderson Brito (16-3-1).

The Tale of Naoya Inoue vs Luis Nery

If you’ve paid any attention to the build for Naoya Inoue vs Luis Nery this upcoming Monday (May 6), you’ve probably seen the word “revenge” tossed around a lot despite Inoue and Nery never having fought. You also might have seen that Nery was actually banned for life from competing in Japan ever again but is somehow being allowed to fight in the main event of one of the biggest fights in Japanese boxing history. OfficeHanchoBoxing explains how and why this is all happening for those not in know. Great video.

Chihiro Sawada vs. Jihin Radzuan

Atomweight prospect Chihiro Sawada (7-0) is one to watch. Sawada is a well accomplished amateur wrestler who might be an Olympic caliber wrestler if not for the fact Japan has the most insanely stacked wrestling team on the planet. She's quickly racked up wins in MMA, picking up the Shooto Women's Atomweight title along the way.

Sawada will face off with international Judoka competitor Noelle Grandjean (5-1) this Friday (May 3rd) at ONE Fight Night 22: Sundell vs. Diachkova on Amazon Prime.
