for those who do not love their education deeply
  • you are not 'spoilt'
  • you are not 'wasting' anything or anyone's time
  • the educational system is awful & you have every right to speak out against it
  • a teacher must teach you, but they must also entertain and encourage you. if they do not, that is out of your control
  • most dark academics are making the best of a bad situation
  • your mental health matters more than grades
  • not every subject will thrill & excite you. not enjoying literature, poetry or art doesn't make you a 'fake' academic
  • you can enjoy a subject without studying it & you have every right to say you enjoy it
  • barely passing or failing a course is not the end of the world. you will get better, whether that means continuing the course or dropping it for your true passion
  • sometimes you're not good at something, even if you love it. don't sacrifice your mental & physical health to pass a course that you find impossible, but let yourself enjoy it if you can
  • remember your worth is not in your grades.

I feel like when we were kids climate change rhetoric was mostly just like oh no it’s probably going to hurt the planet for our grandkids!!1!1! But then some years passed and the reality turned out to be that Climate Change Is Hurting Us Right Now

started my online clinical neuroscience class today and I couldn’t be more excited! it’s going to be a lot of work but I think the cross-section between clinical psychology and behavioral neuroscience is fascinating, and I can’t wait to see what this class teaches me.

08.11.2018; planning day, trying to get on the rythm of my new timetables. my mornings are shorter, but it’s so refreshing to be able to do things after work, i can even study!

also, today i have another date with the french library guy, so i guess that even if i’m not studying tonight that kind of counts as language practise hahaha i just hope i’m not too dead after my shift.

friendly reminder that new years are not the only time of the year in which u can change and grow and become a better version of yourself!! u could do that literally any time of the year whenever u feel ready!!! take ur time!! don’t stress about it!! everything will eventually get better at the right time <3

this christmas break is really not helping my productivity. however, today i did get to study a bit and i’m quite content with myself.

decided to be productive before the year ends! i go back to school on the 2nd and I didn’t want to go back without having done something productive during break. so, i watched some khan academy and worked on my related rates project for bc calc.

We really need to normalise exercising and eating well for reasons other than losing weight or building huge amounts of muscle. I’ve started going to the gym recently to relieve stress and help me sleep but despite the fact that I fit into shirts and skirts in size small, I’ve been asked if I’m trying to lose weight numerous times. 

Here’s a list of non-aesthetic reasons to exercise:

  • relieves stress
  • keeps you healthy
  • improves sleep
  • can have a positive effect on mental health
  • makes you stronger and fitter
  • something to focus on other than work/school/uni
  • IT’S RECOMMENDED AS PART OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

One week of classes to go and then we have a two week break. It is intended for studying though, because in two months our exams begin!!!
