Not to be rude but this Playoffs story is just so.

What the Habs have pulled off this playoff season:

  • Last to cinch a spot in the playoffs
  • First to earn a spot in the finals
  • Managed to flip a 3-1 series lead by the Leafs
  • Swept the Jets. SWEPT THEM!
  • Took series 3 on home ice after a hard and even matchup
  • Won an astounding 12/17 playoff games so far
  • Took 5/6 games that ended in Overtime
  • 3 of the OT games were played against Vegas
  • This is our first time in the Finals since 1993...
  • ...Which was the last time the Habs held the cup.
  • And the last time ANY Canadian team took it home (28 years!)
  • Coincidentally, in 1993, Guy Carbonneau sealed the deal on the semifinals with an OT goal. History repeats itself?
  • Heavily decorated and gold-medal Olympian Carey Price will take the ice for his first Stanley Cup Finals game. Ever.
"Honestly, we wouldn't be here right now if we didn't believe. We've always stuck with it. No doubting ourselves." - Carey Price

the half assed apology that Matthews gave really speaks to the bigger issue of men in professional sports never really having to face the consequences of their actions.

it seems like every apology in recent memory has been more or less "I'm sorry for distracting the team" and not "I'm sorry for my actions"

now obviously he's not the first or the worst case, but it's really indicative of the bigger issue in professional sports culture

hockey will never be for everyone unless this issue is addressed and there's a major culture shift.

Well, it's a disgusting situation although i'm glad its come to light. Like shoutout to that one random habs fan on twitter because the leafs organization and his pr people have absolutely been keeping this shit quiet INTENTIONALLY and we should engage in a larger discussion about accountability and transparency here

PK SUBBAN DID THAT. HE CALLED THE CANADIENS THE FUCK OUT

He basically said “I knew when I was traded that I was going on a team that is dedicated to winning the cup.” Aka “finally a team that gives a shit”

So at this point. I’m just going to say… We could have had a top line center at the trade deadline. And instead we got Steve Ott… Bergevin. I hope you get fired.

I have never been this upset at the end of a playoff run. I am perfectly capable of swallowing losses when we have been up against a worthy opponent and/or when we have played at our best. A lot of changes were made this year and we saw a great deal of improvement. But there is still a fair amount we need to fix. We need offense. Pacioretty and Galchenyuk were obviously far from their best here, but we also can’t rely so heavily on two players to score goals.

This series had its moments but it was largely a mess, many of our key players did not put up the points, and most of our team did not play with the fire we needed. I just hope this loss stings enough to drive us all the more in preparation for next season. GHG.

The Habs were not a playoff team

Written by a habs fan

I don’t know how or why the Habs finished in first place of the Antlantic. Probably because the whole division was bad. But, we picked wins during the seasons! People who did not watch or pay attentions to the games would say they looked good! But in reality, how many games were won or dragged into OT by a last minute effort of Paul Byron?

That’s the problem. It was “fake wins”, as my dad likes to say. Habs were doing NOTHING for 50 minutes, then played just enough to pass. Just like one would pass a class at 59,99% rounded up to 60 in a class of faing student.

We lack of offensive talent. We have the support guys, but they’ve got no one to support. It wasn’t by adding weight and size that we would have been better. We needed a #1 center, we needed a spark (*cough* Subban was capable of that), but we didn’t have one. And our guys who were capable of that did not step up.

There needs to be a massive clean up in both of te players and the management. They have a hard time drafting correctly and when they do they fail to develop the young guys.

Now, I am not an expert on hockey nor do I know every details concerning the Habs, but I do know that as a fan and as someone who pays to see that team, I am truly disappointed by the team. And losing is one thing, but on top of that they did not give a show. I’m sorry, but the way they have been playing is literally a lack of respect to the fans. We don’t want to see the puck dumped when they enter the oppositte team’s zone. I want to see good plays and efforts.

And Montreal failed to deliver.

The Habs were not a playoffs team.
