Roberta down!
I actually really liked this one? It felt more like a puzzle than a punishment like some of these others are.
First, I liked that Bind is a massive nuisance, so you have to stack up on Anti-Bind memoria so that you aren't totally fucked. This means that your mp gain is a little lower than normal since you're not doubling up on mp passives.
Next, you can only use dark and void type units (well, you can kinda use other units but they're severely set back and won't be able to read magia/doppel). What this means in practice is that it's really hard to heal your team. The boss doesn't actually do that much damage compared to some other bosses but it adds up over time.
There are a few dark units who can heal, but it's limited to ones like Ikumi and Valentines Nagisa. I was excited to try and use VNagisa, especially cause she can remove debuffs (so it's not just Kuroe who's doing it), but it was difficult in practice.
If you're struggling with healing, then the answer is... barrier! And this is where units like Mikoto (either of them) or Valentines Sudachi shine. In fact, VDay Sudachi felt perfect here because her doppel will heal the whole team, provide barriers for the whole team, make her provoke for three turns, and give everyone mp up when damaged.
I was especially impressed when my Valentines Sudachi with ONE SLOT was able to do anything. Good for you Sudachi.
I saw that some folks used Scene 0 Homura instead of Ebony (I'm assuming so that the skill quicken lets you chain attack down / defense down more often?) but I was unable to get it to work really well.
I think my one complaint would be that the dark fights rely too much on Devil Homura and Kuroe to work-- especially Kuroe. I feel like the other Scene 0 fights have more diversity in who you get to use for their elements.
Anyways, Yuu was super helpful for this. She's probably one of the best units to get if you want to defeat despair units. Best despair units would be: Yuu, Kuroe, Amaryllis, Heruka, Scene 0 Madoka...
