#i'm honestly too busy to be worrying about RPs right now#i'm in the middle of changing college course so that i can start graphics after the holidays#so much coursework to catch up on#also lots of new obsessions#so until i'm finished with college#(either next summer or the summer after that)#i'll potentially come back to the RP scene#but for now i'll be leaving marcus on a shelf to gather dust whilst i worry about college#feel free to continue writing drabbles with marcus and nibs tho :)

I’m so sorry! I did delete that blog bc I was getting overwhelmed with every blog I have on this site and I haven’t really focused on my human TTTE characters since May I think? :( But since this is my main “shitpost” blog I’ll probably end up posting more Thomas stuff here, if you wanna hang around and check it out. A lot of my initial posts are also on my Twitter from way back when (@DrunkleTeddy).

I haven’t drawn these babies for MONTHS bc Mass Effect, Dragon Age, RWBY and Voltron Legendary Defender took over my life. also I went back to college in September and everyone on my fine arts course (including myself) hates it so much we’re having group mental breakdowns and almost all of our teachers are terrible lmao

sometimes I forget how old I am in comparison to most of my friends. like, I’m only 19, but I remember modums, bitch. I REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD TO TURN OFF THE DAMN PHONE TO USE THE INTERNET, AND VICE VERSA.

things i did that forced me to be a better artist:

  • used a reference for everything
  • thinner line art (you think thats thin? go thinner….)
  • sketch, then do a cleaner sketch, THEN start finalizing
  • THUMBNAILS
  • color research, picking a set palette or light/dark for each work
  • you like that pose? redo it one more time
  • USE A DAMN REFERENCE
  • do not rely on stylization as an excuse for anatomy
  • draw the goddamn background you coward
  • just draw the hand- a bad hand is better than a hidden hand
  • the rule of thirds WORKS
  • take a considerable break between sketch and lines/paint
  • know that art takes longer as you get better at it
  • draw the seams on clothes
  • stop aiming for accuracy and focus on fluidity and motion, accuracy will come with practice of those two concepts
  • just…do the chiaroscuro. just DO IT. no excuses it always works
  • stop making excuses, make yourself an art schedule/set weekly(or daily) art goals and just DO IT.
