          if samsoo had the wherewithal to consider his own hypocrisy, he might have noticed that he was currently pulling some of the shit that annoyed him the most when it happened to him  --  trying to distract cassidy from what he supposed could be considered its job, for purely selfish reasons. but the music around them was loud,  &  samsoo was feeling a bit light-headed and loose from just being around so much drunken, vaguely horny energy. it was as good an excuse as any for why he wasn’t about to stop himself from tugging on cassidy’s arm and demanding attention.  ‘  just come sit with me for a while... no one’ll notice. what’s the worst that could happen  ?  ’  as if there was going to be any situation tonight that any demon worth anything couldn’t deal with on their own  &  would need cassidy’s protection from  --  aside from samsoo’s own ego situation, maybe.  (  @svnsorsvns​  !  )

          the truth is, he’s been going out of his way to irritate the other tonight. silas has never quite understood the term speak only when spoken to. he tells himself he’s not being petty each time he drops a sly or barbed comment into a conversation nobody had invited him to join  --  that he’s just having a good time. some people like gossiping about their coworkers and friends at an unfortunately quiet house party,  &  some people like trying to get a rise out of the most damningly attractive person in the room, however that rise may come. silas just so happens to land somewhere in the middle, &  has been skewed heavily towards inciting anger tonight. maybe he’s a little irritated himself  --  but the thought gets pushed aside as he’s body blocked from exiting the bathroom the second he opens the door, surprised into silence for a moment. but of course it’s him. silas grins as he takes in the irritable face before him, helpless not to. he sways backwards on his heels.  ‘  wow. you miss me that much already  ?  ’
